The best car insurance companies for Bmw 530 owners

Car insurance rates are as unique as each driver—premiums are personalized based on various factors insurers use to
calculate your premiums
, which means rates for BMW 5 series auto insurance will differ dramatically between drivers and carriers.
But when looking for car insurance, cost is only one factor—you’ll also want to consider a carrier’s ratings for things like claims experience and customer service.
To help drivers find their ideal insurer, Jerry surveyed over 18,000 real policyholders to determine the
best car insurance companies
. We asked policyholders what they do and don’t like about their current insurance provider, and here’s what they had to say:

How'd we get these scores?

Jerry's experts conducted one of the largest car insurance surveys in the United States. We surveyed 15,000 policyholders, in all 50 states, over the span of 18 months. These policyholders hold insurance policies with 87 different insurance companies. We surveyed policyholders to gauge their satisfaction with their insurance carriers in: policy cost, customer service, buying and renewal experience, as well as claim experience. These scores were all reported by real customers of the insurance companies.

How much car insurance do you need for a Bmw 530?

Car insurance requirements differ based on where you live, but regardless of location, drivers are required to meet or exceed their state's
minimum coverage car insurance
requirements to drive legally.
CarAverage Full Coverage Insurance CostAverage State Minimum Insurance Cost
Bmw 530
$236
$117
There are two options for insurance:
  • Minimum coverage insurance
is the minimum amount legally required in your state, and includes
    bodily injury
    and
    property damage
liability insurance. This type of insurance will cover any injuries or damages you cause to another party after an accident, but will not cover your own costs.
  • Full coverage insurance
typically includes liability insurance, along with
    collision
    and
    comprehensive
coverage to protect your vehicle from damage in collision and non-collision related events (i.e. theft, vandalism, severe weather, etc.).
If you loan or lease your vehicle, your lender will likely require you to purchase collision and comprehensive coverage for the duration of your loan or lease. You’ll also need a full coverage policy if you plan to add additional coverages, such as roadside assistance.

Why are some trims more expensive to insure than others?

In most cases, the more expensive your car, the more you’ll pay to insure it. Higher trim levels come with more safety features and tech with higher repair costs and, as a result, higher insurance costs.
Check out the table below to see the average cost of auto insurance for the most popular BMW 530 trim levels.

Bmw 530 insurance cost by model year

Like trim levels, newer features and more technology have higher costs when it comes to insurance. As such, newer BMW models will cost more to insure than older ones.
Take a look at some real quotes BMW 530 drivers found using Jerry to see how model years affect insurance premiums.

Are Bmw 530s expensive to insure?

The average rate to insure a BMW 520 for minimum coverage insurance is around $150 per month, or $1,800 per year. For a full coverage policy, drivers pay an average of $150 per month, or $1,800 per year.
However, insurance costs are highly individual, which means you could pay more or less to insure your BMW 530.

Tesla Model S

Why are similar cars more or less expensive to insure? When calculating insurance costs, insurers consider various factors, such as the Manufacturer's Suggested Retail Price (MSRP), model year, and safety ratings. Newer and more expensive models, regardless of the make, generally cost more to insure than older, base-level models.

What other factors affect Bmw 530 insurance rates?

In addition to vehicle-specific factors, insurers also consider other driver-specific factors, such as:
  • Your age: Drivers under 25 pay the highest insurance rates for any age group due to limited driving experience and a higher risk for accidents. Similarly, drivers over 75 pay higher rates due to age-related factors that increase risk.
  • Your driving record and claims history: A history of accidents and moving violations signals to insurers that you’re a high-risk driver and will cause insurance rates to increase, regardless of what vehicle you drive.
  • Your zip code: Different areas within a city are subject to unique factors that influence car insurance rates, such as traffic patterns and crime activity.
  • Mileage: The more you drive, the higher the risk of being involved in an accident and the more you’ll pay for insurance.
  • Credit score: Most insurers use credit-based insurance scores to set premiums. Drivers with excellent scores (over 750) are rewarded with lower premiums than drivers with poor credit scores (under 550).

Bmw 530 insurance cost for young drivers

Teen drivers
between the ages of 16 and 19 and new drivers face some of the highest insurance rates out of any age group due to limited experience behind the wheel and a higher risk of accidents. As experience increases, rates should steadily start to decline.
Young and new drivers, especially those with new(er) cars, should also consider investing in a full coverage insurance policy that includes collision and comprehensive insurance for greater financial and legal protection.

Bmw 530 insurance cost for senior drivers

Middle-aged drivers (40-year-olds) tend to pay the lowest rates. However, as drivers reach their mid-70s, insurance rates start to climb again. This is because elderly drivers are more vulnerable to severe injuries in the event of a collision, leading to significant medical expenses and other increased costs for insurance providers.
Luckily, Jerry can help find affordable
car insurance rates for seniors

Bmw 530 insurance cost for drivers with driving violations

Your driving record has one of the biggest influences on car insurance rates. A history of accidents and moving violations—even something like a minor speeding ticket—can cause insurance rates to increase. Generally speaking, insurance providers reward good drivers with the lowest rates.
Some common violations that can lead to high insurance rates are:

Cheapest car insurance for Bmw 530 drivers with speeding ticket

Any type of speeding ticket will result in higher insurance rates, but repercussions vary based on the degree of speeding. For example, rates will increase less for driving 5 mph over the posted speed limit compared to driving 20 mph over. And if you’re nailed for reckless driving, you can expect your insurance rates to go through the roof.
If you’ve recently added a speeding ticket to your driving record, Jerry can help you compare rates from the top providers to find the most affordable policy for your BMW 530 without sacrificing coverage.

Cheapest car insurance for Bmw 530 drivers after an accident

A history of at-fault accidents on your driving history is another reason for increasing auto insurance rates. Insurers base their annual premiums on risk level, and the higher risk you are as a policyholder, the more you’ll pay to insure your car.
If you have one or more at-fault accidents on your driving record, Jerry can help you compare rates from providers in your area to find the most affordable option.

How can I lower the cost of insurance for my car?

Shopping around and comparing free quotes is the easiest way to find the cheapest car insurance rate, but there are other easy ways to save:
  • Increase your deductible: Your
    car insurance deductible
is the amount you must pay after filing a collision or comprehensive claim before your insurer will pay out. Increasing your deductible will lower your monthly payments—but ensure it’s a rate you can afford to pay in the event of an accident.
  • Reduce your coverage: If you have an older car with collision and comprehensive insurance, drop them and
    reduce coverage
to save. Generally, you don't need additional coverage if your car is worth less than 10 times the auto insurance premium you’re paying.
  • Look for discounts:
    Car insurance discounts
are one of the easiest ways to reduce your car insurance premium. Most companies offer discounts, but what’s available will depend on the insurer and your location.
  • Bundle your insurance policies:
Bundling your homeowners and auto insurance
(or auto and renters) with the same insurance company can help you save on both premiums.

Methodology

Insurance research: We analyzed over 25 million car insurance quotes; conducted the largest insurance shopping survey (over 15,000 customers surveyed and 85 carriers reviewed in the past 18 months).
We surveyed insurance policyholders for their experience with their insurers in the following areas: (1) insurance cost (2) customer service (3) insurance buying experience (4) insurance renewal experience (5) claim experience. In addition, we asked people what they like about their insurers and what areas in which their insurers could improve. The driver characteristics used in calculating average rates for auto insurance include: single driver, single car, currently insured, clean driving record.
