How to Find Your Acura TSX Radio Code

Find your Acura TSX radio code in your glove compartment, owner’s manual, or on a door jamb.
Written by Natalie Todoroff
To find your Acura TSX radio code, start by looking in your glove compartment, beneath the cover of the engine fuse box, in your owner’s manual, on the driver’s side door jamb, or the trunk jamb. You can also look it up using your VIN number and radio serial number.
  • If your car battery recently died or was replaced, you may need to enter a radio code to use your stereo system again.
  • You can typically find an Acura vehicle’s radio code on a sticker in your glove compartment.
  • You can also look up your TSX radio code online with your VIN and your radio device’s serial number.

How to find your Acura TSX radio code

It’s usually not difficult to find your
Acura
radio code. Start by checking inside your glove box. Your TSX's radio code should be on a sticker decal on the inside wall of the glove compartment. You might also find it on a separate anti-theft radio identification card.
If you can’t find it there, the next place to look is under the hood. Pop it open, and take the cover off of the engine fuse box cover. The sticker with the radio code may be on the underside of the fuse box cover.
If you have no luck there, try flipping through your owner’s manual, on the door jamb, or the trunk jamb.
Keep in mind that the sticker you’re looking for will have two codes: one five-digit code, and another longer one. The one you need is the five-digit code—that’s the one that will unlock your radio.

How to look up your Acura TSX radio code

If you can’t seem to find your Acura radio unlock code, you can also search for it using your Acura's
vehicle identification number
and radio serial number in a few simple steps.
Find your VIN at the base of your windshield, on your vehicle's registration papers, on your insurance card, or any official paperwork from an Acura dealership.
How you get the radio serial number depends on the model year of your car:
  • For Acura TSXs model year 2001 and later: Turn the ignition and radio on to confirm that the display reads “CODE.” If it doesn’t do this, pull the backup fuse and try again.
  • Next, turn your radio off and press and hold all six preset buttons, and then turn the radio on again. The first screen will display the letter U followed by four digits, and the second screen will display an L also followed by four digits. These eight digits together make up your radio serial number.
  • For Acura TSXs model year 2004-2008 with navigation systems: Turn on the ignition to ACC (1). Turn on the radio to confirm that the display reads “CODE.” If it doesn’t do this, pull the backup fuse and try again.
  • Turn off the radio and press and hold the top halves of the SEEK/SKIP and CH/DISC bars, and then press and release the PWR/VOL knob. The first screen will display the letter U followed by four digits, and the second screen will display an L also followed by four digits. These eight digits together make up your radio serial number.
With your VIN and your radio serial code ready to go, you’re finally able to look up your Acura TSX radio code! You can do this by using Acura’s
online lookup tool
or by calling (800)-382-2238 Monday through Friday, 6:00 am to 5:00 pm Pacific.
If worse comes to worst, you can always bring your TSX to your
local Acura dealership
. If you can’t find the numbers you need, they’ll be able to help you track down your radio code.

Why do I need an Acura TSX radio code?

Many Acura models will prompt you to enter a radio code on the device display any time after you disconnect or replace your battery as an added security measure.
Radios are still one of the most commonly stolen vehicle components. That’s where your radio code comes in—it's an anti-theft measure.
But, if you’re the one stuck without the code, you could be the one with a useless radio in your hands.
