2022 Nissan Altima configurations

The 2022 Nissan Altima is available in five unique trims: S, SV,
SR
,
SL
, and
Platinum
. Predictably, as you move up trims, you gain access to more exclusive and luxurious features—but at a higher cost.
But here’s where it gets confusing: While a 188-hp 2.5-liter four-cylinder engine is standard, a 2.0-liter four-cylinder that makes up to 248 horsepower is available as an upgrade—but only on one of the trims.
Similarly, front-wheel drive is standard (on most trims). All-wheel drive is an optional upgrade, but only on trims with the 2.5-liter engine.
Confused yet? Let’s clear things up by looking more closely at each of your available options.

Altima S with FWD

Starting price: $25,995
First up is the
Altima S
, a no-nonsense, base-level trim with an incredibly affordable price tag. The standard 188-hp 2.5-liter four-cylinder engine pairs with a continuously variable automatic transmission (CVT), offering predictable—albeit unremarkable—acceleration.
Some enjoyable key features include:
  • Intelligent forward collision warning
  • Automatic emergency braking with pedestrian detection
  • Lane departure warning
  • RearView monitor
  • High beam assist
  • Intelligent driver alertness
  • 16-in. steel wheels with wheel covers
  • Intelligent auto headlights
  • Dual power outside mirrors
  • Acoustic laminated glass
  • Chrome V-Motion grille
  • Nissan Intelligent Key with push-button start
  • Cloth seat trim
  • 5-in. multi-function information display
  • 7-in. infotainment touchscreen display with six-speaker audio system
  • Voice recognition

Altima SV with FWD or AWD

Starting price: $26,995
The SV trim is still equipped with the standard 2.5-liter engine—but it’s the first trim that can be had with either a front-wheel drivetrain or an upgraded all-wheel drivetrain system for an extra $1,400.
Added driver assistance features and upgraded interior features are prominently featured on the 2022
Nissan Altima SV
, including blind spot warning, rear cross-traffic alert, rear automatic braking, 17-in. aluminum alloy wheels, an eight-way power driver’s seat, sport cloth seat trim, a 7-in. Advanced Drive-Assist display, Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, SiriusXM Satellite Radio, and more.

Altima SR 2.5 with FWD or AWD

Starting price: $27,995
Here’s where your options get a bit confusing. The SR trim level is the only trim to come with your choice of engine. First up is the standard 2.5-liter engine, which can be had with FWD or AWD.
You’ll also notice some sporty features like a sport-tuned suspension, 19-in. aluminum alloy wheels, dark chrome V-motion grille, dual chrome exhaust finishers, a leather-wrapped steering wheel and shift knob, and carbon fiber-look interior trim.

Altima SR 2.0 with FWD

Starting price: $31,250
The SR trim is the only 2022 Altima that can be had with an optional turbocharged 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine. This powertrain makes up to 248 horsepower with premium fuel and also uses the CVT. Unfortunately, it cannot be had with all-wheel drive.

Altima SL with FWD or AWD

Starting price: $31,740
Although an upgraded trim, the SL returns to the standard 2.5-liter engine and cannot be had with the turbocharged powertrain. However, this means that all-wheel drive is—once again—available as an option.
Some added features include a remote engine start, intelligent climate control, leather-appointed seats, a heated steering wheel, and piano black and wood-tone interior trim.

Altima Platinum with AWD

Starting price: $35,695
Last up is the tricked-out Platinum trim—the only Altima that comes with all-wheel drive as a standard feature.
It also adds 19-inch alloy wheels, a surround-view camera, a four-way power-adjustable passenger seat, and a Homelink transceiver. Driver memory seat and mirror, an auto-dimming rearview mirror, and unique cabin accent lighting are standard.
