2022 GMC Yukon configurations

When it comes to choosing the right 2022 GMC Yukon, there are a couple of things to consider. The first decision to make is between the standard-length GMC Yukon and the Yukon XL, which adds an extra 15 inches to the length of the Yukon’s wheelbase.
While that may not seem like much, it makes a difference on the inside:
cargo volume
in the Yukon XL is nearly doubled, from 25.5 cubic feet to 41.5 cubic feet—plus you’ll get an added 2 inches of third-row legroom. Outside of those extras, the Yukon and Yukon XL remain virtually identical across each available trim level.
Speaking of trims, there are four: the base-level SLE, the money-saving SLT, off-road ready AT4, and the range-topping Denali. Depending on the trim you choose, you may have different standard and optional features.
Additionally, there are two available drivetrains for the 2022 Yukon and Yukon XL. The 2WD drive is standard in the SLE and SLT, but 4WD is available for any model and even comes standard on the rugged AT4. Then there’s the optional content to consider: technology and safety upgrades, exterior aesthetics and interior add-ons, off-road packages, and more.
Below, we take a closer look at the most popular configurations.

2022 GMC Yukon SLE with 2WD

Starting price: $52,500
The Yukon standard model comes with rear-wheel-drive (RWD), a 5.3L V8 engine, and a 10-speed automatic transmission. Paying an extra $2,800 can extend the Yukon SLE to be XL standing. Other optional content includes all-wheel-drive for an added $3,000 and an upgraded 277-horsepower 2.0L six-cylinder turbo-diesel engine for $2,450.
If you’re only interested in the standard specs, here’s what the base price of $52,500 will get you in a Yukon SLE:
  • 12-inch digital driver information screen
  • Rearview camera
  • Remote start
  • Tri-zone climate control system
  • Wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto
  • Six USB ports
  • 18-inch alloy wheels
If you opt for the front bench seat, you’ll fit up to nine passengers in the Yukon’s standard model—otherwise, with two front bucket seats, you’ll fit eight.
For those interested in the Yukon’s massive
towing
capacities, it may be worthwhile to consider spending an extra $465 on the optional Max Trailering Package, which increases the towing capacity of the base configuration to an impressive 8,400 lbs—not to mention added features like hitch guidance, upgraded radiator cooling, integrated trailer brake control, and even an in-vehicle trailering app.
Other available packages include:
  • GMC Pro Safety Package ($495): GMC’s premier suite of driver’s assistance features.
  • Cargo Convenience Package ($450): includes bonus cargo features like a trunk shade, added storage pockets, and a collapsible console
  • Interior Protection Package ($375): adds all-weather interior floor mats and cargo mats.

2022 GMC Yukon SLT with 2WD

Starting price: $62,495
The Yukon SLT builds on the base model with interior upgrades that add an air of luxury and refinement to this larger-than-life SUV. Most of the vehicle options remain the same—you can upgrade to a turbo-diesel engine and all-wheel-drive for the same prices, and access the same basic packages as in the SLE.
But unlike the SLE, the SLT also features upgraded optional content such as:
  • The Illumination Package ($550): Features an illuminated red front GMC logo and illuminated mirror emblem.
  • The SLT Luxury Package ($2,030): Adds luxury touches including memory settings, driver’s side auto-dimming mirrors, and 60/40 split bench seats in the second and third rows.
  • The SLT Premium Package ($3,130): Gives you access to premium features included in the SLT luxury package, plus a panoramic power sunroof, a 60/40 split power-folding second-row bench seat, and more.

2022 GMC Yukon AT4 with 5.3L engine

Starting price: $70,295
The AT4 is the only Yukon to come standard with 4WD—but you’ll see different performances based on the engine and packages you opt for.
The standard 5.3-liter V8 engine is paired with a 10-speed automatic transmission and can produce 355 hp at 5600 rpm and 383 lb-ft of torque. But AT4 drivers also have the option to upgrade to a 6.2L engine that boosts power for an added punch.
The AT4 also boasts special packages such as:
  • AT4 Technology Package ($1,150): adds tech-savvy bonuses like a head-up display, HD surround vision, and rear pedestrian alerts.
  • AT4 Premium Package ($6,390): Includes the features listed in the Technology Package, along with a panoramic power sunroof, rear-seat media system, and lighted power-retractable assist steps.
  • AT4 Premium Plus Package ($8,650): An all-in-one option for access to the Technology Package, Premium Package, and Max Trailering Package content.

2022 GMC Yukon AT4 with 6.2L engine

Starting price: $73,715
Given the AT4’s rugged off-road abilities and standard V8 engine, you may be wondering why a slightly larger V8 is available—or how it makes a difference. The better question to ask is, why not?
With the upgraded 6.2-liter V8, horsepower ramps up from 355 to 420, not to mention the extra 77 lb-ft of torque you’ll get with the 6.2-liter engine. Overall, you’ll see a difference in performance, power, and speed with this engine option under the hood of your AT4
You can also add 20-inch Multi-spoke Gloss Black wheels for an extra $2,995, giving your AT4 a seriously intense look both on and off the beaten path.

2022 GMC Denali with 2WD

Starting price: $73,895
The tier-topping Denali pulls out all the stops: the 6.2L V8 engine comes standard, along with upgraded safety features, a pair of captain’s chairs in lieu of the second-row bench seat, and upgraded interior and exterior aesthetics. You still get access to the slew of Yukon’s optional content, from premium packages to the optional 3.0L turbodiesel engine—although many optional features for lower trim levels come standard in the Denali.

2022 GMC Denali with 4WD

Starting price: $76,895
For around $3,000 extra, you can add 4WD to the Yukon’s most luxurious trim, making it a comfortable, capable, and lavish hauler for any adventure.
