2022 Ford Bronco Interior Review

The 2022 Ford Bronco prioritizes function over style, making its interior less visually impressive than its powerful exterior.

The Ford Bronco had been away a long time, so this first update since its return is guaranteed to get you noticed. However, its interiors don’t quite live up to the powerful exterior.
The Ford Bronco was discontinued in 1996, not long after millions of people worldwide watched it take center stage in the OJ Simpson highway police chase. But 25 years later it made its big comeback—and it’s still as much of a beast of a vehicle as its name suggests.
However, it has received mixed reviews for its interiors, with cheap-looking build quality the most common complaint. So, is that a reason to give this

a wide berth? Here’s everything you need to know about the new Ford Bronco’s interiors.

2022 Ford Bronco interior

From the outside, the 2022 Ford Bronco is an impressive vehicle, to say the least. It looks like it could drive over any surface and handle whatever the weather conditions could throw at it. But does that mean the inside can’t feel stylish and comfortable?
With an original MSRP of between $31,300 and $68,500, you’d hope the 2022 Bronco was good enough to offer both exterior muscle and interior comfort, so let’s see if it delivers.

Seating

The 2022 Ford Bronco comes with both 2-door and 4-door options, depending on how you intend to use it. The 4-door version is wider and designed to seat five people, while the 2-door is aimed more at being used by one or two people. You can still seat two passengers in the back in that version, but not quite as comfortably.
Whichever model you pick, the rear legroom is nothing to shout about, especially in what looks like such a huge vehicle. With 35.7 inches, no one is going to be stretching their legs and getting too comfortable back there.
The front seats are certainly designed for comfort, with good cushioning and support as well as the kind of positioning to give great views of whatever terrain your Bronco is tackling. Getting into the rear seats on the 2-door option is a bit of a squeeze though.
The seats come with cloth upholstery and manual adjustments as standard, but you can upgrade to vinyl or leather seats with heating and power adjustability on more expensive trims.

Tech

The Bronco may be all about toughness, but it doesn’t scrimp on the software. It comes with a standard 8-inch touchscreen (upgradable to 12-inch, which is recommended) that runs Ford’s impressive SYNC 4 infotainment system. It comes with 8 speakers standard, with up to 10 available to boost the sound system.
Another enjoyable upgrade is the option for a heated steering wheel, which can be a delight when taking your Bronco into cold and inhospitable environments. At this point, it’s worth noting that the Bronco comes with both hard and soft top options. The soft top is great for summer driving, but in winter it can let in a lot of noise and cold air even when the top is up and fastened correctly.
Meanwhile, other standard tech includes Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, HD Radio, satellite radio, a six-speaker stereo, Bluetooth, four USB ports, and a Wi-Fi hotspot.

Storage

You might assume that the 2-door Bronco would come with more storage as it doesn’t prioritize rear passengers, but it’s the 4-door option that wins out on cargo storage too. The 2-door offers 22.4 cubic feet of space behind its rear seats and 53.2 cubic feet when they are folded down.
That’s fine, if not spectacular, but the 4-door Bronco has it beat. You get 35.6 cubic feet behind the rear seats and 77.6 cubic feet with them folded down, which is plenty of room for whatever you need for your adventures. There’s even more room with the soft-top option, with 38 cubic feet behind the seats and an impressive 83 cubic feet with them stowed away.

Style

The exterior of the 2022 Bronco is certainly eye-catching. Unfortunately, the interior doesn’t offer the same kind of aesthetics, with function prioritized over style. The designers expect you to get this cabin DIRTY so they’ve gone with simple, plastic, washable interiors.
The Black Diamond, Badlands, Everglades, and Raptor trims all come with washable, rubberized floors, complete with drains so you can hose down your interior. Needless to say, this doesn’t exactly go well with the concept of a sophisticated or stylish cabin. Even the seats in trims are specifically designed to prevent mildew.
You can make things look more impressive with leather seats if you don’t plan to be waving your garden hose around in there, but with almost every other surface made of plastic, that still isn’t going to trick anyone into thinking this is a Rolls Royce.

The bottom line

Buying a Bronco means you aren’t necessarily looking for a vehicle that looks and feels like a first-class hotel, so any lack of style or sophistication on the inside probably isn’t going to bother you too much.
This is an all-terrain, all-weather machine designed to keep you safe and turbocharge your adventures. Chances are, that’s exactly what you’re looking for—and if that means there’s a drain in your footwell, so be it.
