2021 Kia Soul configurations

The 2021 Kia Soul comes in seven different configurations, with six
trim levels
LX, S, X-Line, GT-Line, EX, and Turbo—and a few different transmission options. A 1.6-liter turbo 4-cylinder engine producing 195 lb-ft of torque and 180 hp is standard on all but the top-tier Turbo model.
That opens up a wide range of choices for the 2021 Kia Soul's configurations. Let’s take a look at all of your options:

Kia Soul LX (Manual)

Starting price: $17,590
The LX trim is the entry-level Kia Soul. While "base trim" is usually associated with a lack of technology, this is not the case with the Soul. Here are some of the features that come standard:
  • Automatic emergency braking technology
  • Lane-keeping assist technology
  • Cloth upholstery
  • 7-inch infotainment touchscreen
  • Wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto
  • Air conditioning

Kia Soul LX (IVT)

Starting price: $19,090
While the cheapest 2021 Kia Soul comes with a manual transmission, you can opt for the LX with Kia’s intelligent variable transmission (IVT) system, for about $2,000 more. This system, a variant of a continuously variable transmission, ensures smooth gear changes like an automatic transmission while delivering better efficiency.

Kia Soul S (IVT)

Starting price: $20,690
The S trim is the next step up from the LX. It has more active safety features than the LX, such as blind spot detection and rear cross-traffic alert.
Here are some other upgrades included in the S trim:
  • Premium tricot cloth seats
  • 17-inch alloy wheels
  • Dual-zone automatic climate control
  • Four-speaker audio system

Kia Soul X-Line (IVT)

Starting price: $21,790
The X-Line trim has an off-road-inspired design and includes the following features:
  • Roof rails
  • Remote keyless entry
  • Cruise control
  • Leather-wrapped steering wheel and shifter
The Kia Soul X-Line trim also has advanced safety features such as forward collision mitigation, blind-spot monitoring, and a drowsy driver monitor.

Kia Soul GT-Line (IVT)

Starting price: $21,790
The GT-Line is the option for a sportier look and feel, with specially-designed exterior features that are exclusive to the trim. It shares the same features and options as the X-Line besides the roof rails. It also includes:
  • Sunroof
  • Premium cloth upholstery
  • USB charging ports in front console
  • 12-volt charger in cargo area
The GT-Line and X-Line trim levels are both appearance packages, but they also include additional optional upgrades that are not available on lower trim levels.

Kia Soul EX (IVT)

Starting price: $23,350
The EX model of the Kia Soul is the top-tier trim available with the base engine. This package includes even more comfort and convenience features, like:
  • Heated mirrors
  • Sunroof
  • Keyless entry and ignition
  • Dual-zone automatic climate control
  • Heated front seats
  • Leather-wrapped steering wheel and shifter
  • 10.25-inch infotainment touchscreen with navigation
  • Wireless charging pad

Kia Soul Turbo (DCT)

Starting price: $27,650
The highest trim of all is the Turbo, which features a turbocharged 1.6L inline 4-cylinder engine (with 201 horsepower). It’s also the only 2021 Kia Soul offered with a dual-clutch transmission.
If you haven't heard of them, dual-clutch transmissions are a middle ground between an automatic and a manual transmission. They are closer to manual transmissions, but they use two clutches (hence the name "dual-clutch") to synchronize gear changes.
Here are some of the highlights of the top-of-the-line Kia Soul Turbo:
  • LED headlights and foglights
  • Head-up display
  • Synthetic leather upholstery
  • An upgraded power-adjustable driver's seat
  • Heated steering wheel
  • Premium Harman Kardon audio system
  • Adaptive cruise control
