2021 Honda Accord configurations

Sorting through the 2021 Honda Accord configurations, your first decision should be about the powertrain. There are three engine types for the 2021 Accord:
  • Base engine: 1.5-liter four-cylinder turbocharged engine (192 horsepower)
  • Upgrade engine: 2.0-liter four-cylinder turbocharged engine (252 horsepower)
  • Hybrid engine: 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine w/two electric motors (212 horsepower)
Each of these engines comes with front-wheel drive (FWD) only, so there doesn’t have to be much mulling when it comes to choosing a drivetrain.
Once you have an idea of the type of engine you want to be rolling with, you’ll need to consider the
trim levels
available for that powertrain:
  • Honda’s 1.5-liter VTEC Turbocharged engine comes standard in the LX, Sport, Sport Special Edition, and EX-L trim levels.
  • If you’re looking for some extra boost, you can find the 2.0-liter VTEC Turbocharged engine standard in the Touring 2.0T trim, and it’s also available on the Sport and EX-L trims.
  • That hybrid engine can spread across four of these trims: Hybrid, Hybrid EX, Hybrid EX-L, and Hybrid Touring 2.0T
Of course, there’s more to a car than just what’s under the hood, so let’s look at what makes each of these Honda Accord configurations special.
