2019 Ford Expedition Interior Review

Roomy seats, bountiful tech features, and plenty of options make the 2019 Ford Expedition a practical people mover.

The 2019 Ford Expedition interior stands out with its extraordinarily roomy third-row seats and more cup holders. However, some may find the high lift-over height and second-row folding mechanism offputting.
The interior of the Expedition can range from basic to nice, albeit the hard plastics found in many places don’t exactly impress. The seating is spacious across all rows—adults can even fit comfortably in the back. Those who need more cargo room can also opt for the longer Expedition Max, which solely lengthens the cargo area.
If you’re interested in the 2019 Ford Expedition, you’ve come to the right place.

2019 Ford Expedition interior

The 2019 Ford Expedition is terrific for its minivan-level spaciousness in a full-size SUV body. This roomy SUV also has enough headroom for tall adults to appreciate. The only downside is that the 2019 Ford Expedition still comes with a hefty price tag of around $34,500 used.
So, what makes this full-size SUV hold its value so well over the years? Let’s break down all the features of the 2019 Expedition.

Seating

With two front seats, a second row, and a power-folding third row, the 2019 Ford Expedition can seat up to eight comfortably. Heated front seats are standard, as are 12-way power settings including lumbar support.
On higher trims, you’ll also get:
  • Perforated leather seating (Limited, Platinum)
  • 10-way adjustable heated and ventilated front seats (Limited, Platinum)
  • Power-folding second-row seats (Limited, Platinum)
  • Third-row headrests (Limited, Platinum)
  • Massaging front seats (Platinum)

Tech

The 2019 Ford Expedition doesn’t come standard with a lot of tech, but owners get the essentials.
The good:
  • 8.0-inch infotainment display
  • USB ports in the front and second row
  • Front air conditioning, dual-zone automatic climate control
  • Rear air conditioning with separate controls
  • Nine-speaker audio system
Upgrading to the Limited trim gets you Ford’s Sync 3 system, which includes Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, plus front-row wireless charging and USB ports in the third row. The gauge cluster is also upgraded to dual 4.2-inch displays.
Going for the top-of-the-line Platinum trim will load up the Expedition with even more luxury features such as GPS navigation, a panoramic sunroof, and active noise cancellation.
The optional rear-seat entertainment package is available and adds a display to the front-row seatbacks. Audiophiles will also be pleased to know that they can opt for a 12-speaker Bang & Olufsen audio system.

Storage

With a whopping 104.6 cubic feet of cargo space behind the first row, 63.6 cubic feet behind the second row, and 20.9 cubic feet behind the third, there are plenty of storage configurations available to suit every situation. The cherry on top is the 15 cup holders inside the cabin, so there’s no shortage of space for everyone’s drinks.

Style

The Expedition’s comfort, tech, and storage get three check marks from us, but does it pass the vibe check? It’s 50/50, depending on the trim level.
With the most basic
XLT
trim, you’ll be looking at a lowkey, plasticky interior. However, moving up to the
Platinum
trim, you’ll find multi-contour leather seats, leather door-trim accents, real wood center console accents, and a leather-wrapped steering wheel. Some may even say the Platinum trim rivals the looks of luxury SUVs.
That being said, cheap-looking adornments still plague the interior and can be disappointing at such a high price point.

This app is great, but the customer service is even better! Not to mention convenient! My husband and I got the lowest rate (much lower than the rates I was finding online through my own searches), quickly, and pretty much all through text message! Thank you so much for a hassle free experience👍
