2011 Nissan Rogue fuel economy

Every 2011 Nissan Rogue has the same four-cylinder engine and continuously variable transmission (CVT), but buyers can choose between front- or all-wheel drive, which very slightly affects gas mileage.
Both the FWD and AWD versions get a combined 24 miles per gallon. Similarly, both will get 22 mpg in the city. Where they differ, however, is on the highway. The front-wheel drive model earns a rating of 28 mpg on the highway, while the all-wheel drive only earns a rating of 26 mpg.
This difference of two miles per gallon is all but negligible.

Is the 2011 Nissan Rogue good on gas?

For a compact SUV made in the twenty-tens, the 2012 Nissan Rogue gets pretty good fuel economy estimates
Compared to the rest of the vehicles in its class, the 2011 Nissan Rogue is perfectly fine when it comes to fuel efficiency. It’s certainly nothing to sneeze at, but it doesn’t necessarily blow us away, either.
Consider one of the vehicle’s primary competitors, the 2022 Chevrolet Equinox, which earns an impressive combined rating of up to 27 mpg thanks to its incredible efficiency on the highway.
Other compact SUVs that slightly outperform the Rogue include the 2011 Kia Sportage, the 2011 Jeep Patriot, and the 2011 Ford Escape.
But the Rogue certainly doesn’t fall in the back of the pack. In fact, it’s considerably more efficient than other popular SUVs like the 2011 Dodge Nitro, the 2011 Jeep Liberty, and the 2011 Acura RDX.

How to improve fuel efficiency for a 2011 Nissan Rogue

In order to make your Rogue as fuel efficient as possible, try following these three simple tips:
  • Use cruise control whenever possible to improve gas mileage by minimizing harsh acceleration and heavy braking.
  • Cleaning out your car—and especially empting heavy items out of the trunk—can improve fuel efficiency by lightening the load that your engine has to lug around.
  • Regular maintenance, including oil changes and tire rotations, is essential for keeping your actual fuel consumption as low as possible.
