2010 Audi S5 Coupe

The 2010 Audi S5 Coupe has a great interior and thrilling performance, but it comes with high fuel and repair costs.

Though the price of an Audi S5 Coupe has dropped from $52,400 to $15,000, its appeal remains as strong as ever. If you're willing to pay for repairs and premium gas, you'll be rewarded with a svelte interior, a roaring engine, and fun driving.
Coupes aren't family cars. Coupes aren't freight-haulers. Coupes aren't always supercars.
Coupes are for people who place performance and pleasure over storage. In today's automotive market stuffed with big SUVs, it seems fewer and fewer people want to make that trade. In our opinion, it's worth it.
It may be true that budget coupes are disappearing, but it’s still possible to enjoy the finer things in life for a modest price. Join

Style in a small package: the 2010 Audi S5 Coupe

While the Audi S5 was only in its third year of production in 2010, many of its newest features have since become mainstays. The soft-top Cabriolet, Premium Plus, and Prestige trims were introduced that year. The fact that all of these options are still available in 2023 speaks well of their manufacturing quality.
Originally priced at $52,400, a used Audi S5 Coupe in good condition can be yours for around $15,000. KBB predicts Audi resale values will hold up well into the future. Don't forget window stickers, suspension problems, and other
things to look for when buying a used car
.
In return, you'll walk away with a beauty whose specs speak for themselves:
  • Engine: 4.2L V8
  • Power: 354 horsepower
  • Torque: 325 pound-feet
There are two choices of reins for this wild stallion: a six-speed manual or an optional six-speed automatic. The 2010 S5 gallops from zero to 60 mph in 4.9 seconds, just a hair over half a second slower than its modern counterpart.
However, this coupe can be thirsty at the pump... and it only drinks premium gas. As a result, you shouldn't expect much more than 17/14/22 combined/city/highway mpg.

Is the 2010 Audi S5 Coupe comfortable?

Despite its four-seat layout, the 2010 S5 Coupe only has a 3-inch difference between the dimensions of its front and rear rows. A leader in interior design, Audi offers its drivers and front passengers eight-way power seats upholstered in Nappa leather. With adjustable lumbar support and heating, your passengers are sure to shout “shotgun!” as soon as they see you grab the keys.
The coupe's trunk can hold 12.0 cubic feet of luggage, which is more than enough for a weekend getaway. For more space, use the 50/50 split-folding rear seatbacks.

Is the 2010 Audi A5 Coupe reliable?

According to RepairPal, the Audi S5 ranks 30th out of 31 luxury midsize cars for reliability, trailing 1.5 points out of 5 behind its peers. J.D. Power rates Audi below average as well. However, according to KBB and Edmunds consumer reviews, the S5 "handles like a dream" and looks "awesome and gorgeous.”
How much are you willing to endure for a car you love? Even the most enthusiastic reviewers mention that repairs can be expensive and frequent, so it's up to you.

Is the 2010 Audi S5 Coupe safe?

Neither the NHTSA nor IIHS have rated the 2010 S5, but that doesn't mean it's unsafe. It features a full complement of airbags as standard, plus braking assistance, stability control, and traction control. If you want the most peace of mind, opt for a model with a package.
For example, the Driver Assist package ($900) adds parking sensors, a backup camera, and blind-spot monitoring. The Navigation package ($2,500) includes an LCD navigation screen and all driving aids, but not blind-spot monitoring. In the past, buyers could also add adaptive cruise control and braking assistance for $2,100.
Obviously, any of these extras will increase a seller’s asking price.

2010 Audi S5 Coupe trim levels

2010 S5 Coupes start at $52,400 for the Premium Plus Quattro, which includes:

  • Quattro all-wheel-drive
  • Sport-tuned suspension
  • Xenon headlights
  • Rain-sensing wipers
  • Heated, power exterior mirrors
  • Tilt-only panoramic sunroof
  • Leather-wrapped steering wheel
  • Triple-zone automatic climate control
  • 10-speaker audio system with HD Radio, Sirius XM satellite radio, CD tray, and auxiliary audio input
  • MMI operating software with voice controls and wireless Bluetooth connectivity

Prestige trims (also called packages) cost $5,700 more. Here's what you get:
  • Keyless entry and ignition
  • Auto-dimming exterior mirrors
  • 14-speaker Bang & Olufsen premium sound system
  •  7-inch color LCD display with real-time traffic updates and 3D navigation
  • Driver seat memory functions
  • Parking sensors and a rearview camera
For a truly special S5, look for Gray Birch Wood, Stainless Steel, or Carbon Atlas inlay ($500-$750). Depending on your budget, you could also choose an Audi Drive Select model ($3,950) with dynamic steering, adaptive suspension damping, and a sports-tuned rear differential. The Sport, Titanium Sport, and S Line packages focus mostly on the exterior and handling of the car, with some Alcantara seat inserts thrown in.
