Audi’s 2010 S4’s 4.8 second 0–60 acceleration was competitive when the model was first released. Even more impressively, its time is still competitive in its class today!
Back in 2010, the Audi reintroduced an entirely updated version of its popular S4 model. Its new and improved sedan was bigger, it was better, and it was stacked with a spry new V6 engine that could rev up some pretty serious acceleration.

2010 Audi S4 0-60 time
ProfessCars ran some speed tests in the 2010 S4—they reported back a 0 to 60 time of just 4.8 seconds, peeling off a second from Kelley Blue Book’s reported 4.9 second time. It also noted a 13.4-second quarter mile time. Also impressive: Road and Track saw this precocious vehicle take just 11.6 seconds to accelerate to 100mph.

Which Audi S4 engine is the fastest?
When optimizing a new vehicle, drivers usually have many options to choose from, but the 2010 Audi S4 was only available with one engine. By now, you’ve probably gathered: the S4 didn’t need to offer more than one. Its standard 333-hp supercharged 3.0-liter supercharged V6 engine literally and figuratively drove this car’s value home.
There was an option to customize your gears, however. You could opt for the standard six-speed manual transmission or upgrade to the seven-speed dual-clutch automated manual (S tronic) system.
Can it beat the competition?
The Audi S4 may not take home the prize for the fastest acceleration in its class, but it can certainly keep up with the competition. Depending on where you get your specs, it even beats out some heavyweight champs.
Here are the 0-60 specs for the 2010 Audi S4’s top competitors in the luxury sports vehicle class:
If you do some quick mental math, you’ll find that we’re working with an average acceleration time of about 4.5 seconds, with most of the competitors in a 4-5 second range. This places the 2010 S4 staunchly in line with the competition, albeit in the higher end of the slower vehicle’s range.
That being said, keep in mind: slow and fast are relative here. All of these vehicles sport incredibly impressive specs.
Let’s take an example: the 2022 Audi S4. This 2022 came out 12 years later and offers a 4.2 second 0-60 acceleration. That’s 12 years of overwhelming technological and engineering advances, yet only 0.7 seconds were shaved off of the model’s acceleration time. All to say, we’re talking some pretty serious speed here!
