Your 2003 Honda Odyssey radio code will likely be on a sticker in your glove compartment. If you can't find it there, check your owner’s manual.
Radio codes are an anti-theft measure meant to discourage the theft of radios. Radios requiring radio codes won't turn on after the loss of power without inputting a specific code.
Jerry
, the car-insurance super app, has put together this guide to resetting your Honda radio code so you don't have to do your commute in silence. And we'll also show you how to lower your Honda Odyssey car insurance costs
. Why your 2003 Honda Odyssey needs a radio code
Radios were once one of the most frequently stolen car parts—they are easily removable and small enough to carry. Due to this, car manufacturers added radio codes as an anti-theft precaution. But what is a radio code?
A radio code is a five-digit code that you must input after your radio or car battery has been disconnected from your car. Without this code, anti-theft radios will not turn on and play music. This added feature was made to discourage theft. However, after a dead car battery
or other issues, it can also stop you from playing music. If you can’t access your radio, read on to learn how to find your radio code and get back to your favorite radio station.
How to find your 2003 Honda Odyssey radio code
First, make sure your radio even requires a radio code. To check, hold the power button down for a few seconds. On many models, this will be enough to reset the radio and return it to working order.
If this doesn’t work, you’ll need to gain access to your radio code. The first place to check is in the glove compartment: the radio code may be on a sticker either attached to the interior of your dashboard or the owner’s manual. The sticker will say Anti-Theft Radio Code and will list the five-digit code. The code should be exactly five digits and be only numbers.
How to look up a 2003 Honda Odyssey radio code
If you can’t find your radio code inside your car, don’t worry—it shouldn’t take more than a few minutes and couple more steps. Instead, you’ll need to get two other numbers: your cars’ Vehicle Identification Number (VIN) and the radio’s serial code.
Your VIN should be on your registration, on your dashboard, driver-side door jamb, and insurance card.
Your serial number can be found by pressing and holding the one and six preset buttons. While holding these buttons down, turn your car to the ON position, but don't start the engine. The ten-digit serial number should flash across the radio.
