Critics agree that the 2022 Nissan Titan is underwhelming when compared to its competitors. The powerful drivetrain seems to be the only exciting thing about this truck.

The Japanese carmaker is far from keeping up with its North American counterparts in the light-duty pickup department. The 2022 Nissan Titan is overshadowed by other

this year, mainly due to its lack of features.
The Ford F-150 and Ram 1500 both scored higher in overall satisfaction. But the 2022 Nissan Titan does have a few tricks up its sleeve...

What does the 2022 Nissan Titan have going for it?

Outfitted with a 5.6-liter V-8 engine and a flawless nine-speed automatic transmission, the 2022 Nissan Titan ranks high for power in its half-ton class. It’s the only configuration available, offering up 400 hp and 413 lb-ft of torque.
Car and Driver
claims that inside the quiet cabin are some very comfortable zero-gravity front seats. The 8.0-inch touchscreen with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto comes standard, but the 9.0-inch size is optional, along with a 360-degree camera and motion-detector system.
Safety features include automated emergency braking, rear cross-traffic alert, blind-spot monitoring, adaptive cruise control, pedestrian detection, automatic high beams, and lane-departure warning with feedback through the steering wheel.
The 2022 Nissan Titan sits on 18-inch steel wheels and comes standard with a trailer hitch and spray-on bedliner. Buyers have a choice of two cab sizes. The extended cab comes with a 6.6-ft bed. The crew cab comes with a 5.6-ft bed. The Titan’s cargo control outshines competitors with a removable, lockable, spring-assisted tailgate. A bed-channel system and discrete in-bed cargo boxes can be added.
The lowest trim has bench seating for six people. The Pro-4X can handle off-roading with a higher suspension, all-terrain tires, and four-wheel drive.

What is the 2022 Nissan Titan lacking?

Quite simply: Options! While the easily overwhelmed may prefer the simplicity of its offerings, the 2022 Nissan Titan just isn’t as customizable as its competitors. For such a robust drivetrain, its towing capacity is maxed out at 9,660 lbs.
There is a disappointing amount of plastic in the cabin until you upgrade to the Platinum Reserve trim for premium materials. There is less headroom with the panoramic moonroof, less back seat legroom and less storage space in the cargo box than its rivals. The Titan also lacks storage for small items despite its spacious interior and the infotainment system needs updating.
The off-road shocks are stiffer on the 2022 Nissan Titan and the ride does not match the steering and handling of the Ram 1500. Fuel economy is not satisfactory at 21 mpg on the highway.
Kelley Blue Book
notes that while the 2022 Nissan Titan has best-in-class warranty, covering five years or 100,000 miles, it is priced much higher than its light-duty rivals and does not come with any complimentary scheduled maintenance. The base model starts at $39,705 and can climb up to around $67,000.
As for non-domestic work truck options, the Toyota Tundra is more desirable than the Titan. It is the most expensive pickup in its class, yet has the steepest depreciation and lowest resale value.
