When Bentley released the Bentayga, its first SUV, the
luxury car
brand raised the bar for the segment. This year, the company did the same with the Bentayga Extended Wheelbase (EWB).
The key difference between the Bentley Bentayga and the Bentley Bentayga EWB is length, but there’s a little more to it than that.

The O.G. Bentley Bentayga

For the last eight years, the Bentayga has risen through Bentley’s ranks to become the bestselling model in the British brand’s lineup. After looking over its specs, it’s not difficult to understand why.
The AWD Bentley offers three powertrain options: a 542-hp twin-turbo V8, a 626-hp W-12, or a 443-hp turbocharged hybrid V6. Inside, you’ll find comfort and quality fit for a Queen. Along with luxury-level tech, the SUV is decked out in premium leather, wood, and metal trimmings.
Everything in the base Bentayga is top-notch, but Bentley offers upgrades that make the SUV even more excessive.
Its 12-speaker stereo, for example, can be swapped out for a 20-speaker system made by Naim. A new “S” trim also offers exclusive black trimming, 22-inch wheels, a more vocal exhaust system, stiffer suspension, and other upgrade options like a heated, indented steering wheel.

How the Bentayga EWB levels up

The Bentley Bentayga EWB, Bentley’s new flagship model, adds seven inches between the SUV’s two chassis. That extra space makes it a premium option for the kind of person who hires a driver rather than getting behind the wheel themselves.
The extension brings many other improvements to the Bentayga’s interior as well. The redesign required a new floorplan and bodysides, but Bentley also added power-closing rear doors and positioned the sunroof closer to the backseat occupants.
Bentley limited the EWB’s engine options to the V8, but you likely won’t be bothered by that once you hop inside. The lounging space in the back can be equipped with Bentley’s “Airline Seats” that reacts to your body temperature and posture to ensure maximum comfort.

The Bentley Bentayga vs. Bentayga EWB: ownership costs

Opting for the stretch version of the Bentayga definitely ups the ante for the luxury SUV. But if you thought the EWB might offer its opulence for the deal, you’re in for a surprise.
The already-expensive Bentayga V8 retails for $196,000.
Autoblog
says the Bentayga EWB bumps that price to $230,000. Car insurance for the SUV will likely also cost more than it does for the shorter Bentayga as well, which already averages out to $4,800 annually.
