What In the World is the Brabus 900 Crawler? And Why Do We Want One So Bad?

The Brabus 900 Crawler is the SUV your mother warned you about. Too bad it’s not street legal.

When it comes to offroad beasts, Brabus might have just created the ultimate monster. The Brabus 900 Crawler is a dune buggy-style
SUV
that drives like a bat out of hell—but owning one would be heavenly. Brabus’ best creation yet might just sway Ford Raptor fans away from their crown jewel, and toward a different off-road brand that they may have never heard of.
Brabus may be a new name to you, but
Jerry
has been trusted for years as the top authority on affordable car insurance. Find out if you could be saving on your premiums.

The Brabus 900 Crawler

MotorTrend
got our attention with two words: 900 horsepower. That’s enough to grab any car fan’s attention, considering that’s more of a punch than a Chevy Corvette, Dodge Hellcat, Shelby Cobra, and just about every other vehicle on the road. But even with 992 lb-ft of torque to boot, this overgrown dune buggy has one downside: it isn’t street legal.
That might seem like a bit of a letdown, but this isn’t a car. The Brabus 900 Crawler is made for the trails, and there’s no mistaking that.

What are the Brabus 900 Crawler’s other specs?

The Brabus 900 Crawler is outfitted with a nine-speed automatic transmission, plus paddle shifters on either side of the wheel. There’s also a blistering 0-60 time of 3.4 seconds.
However, its top speed is maxed out at 100 mph, largely for safety reasons. After all, it does have an open cockpit, and it comes with helmets for maximum driver safety. Even cooler, the Brabus Crawler’s true dual exhaust system has a sport mode, turning the mufflers from whispers to jet engines at the push of a button.
The interior of the vehicle also has weather-resistant leather seats, a massive LED touch-screen display system (weatherized of course), and of all things, an intercom system that allows the drivers and passengers to amplify their voices.

Is the Brabus Crawler 900 a good buy?

Prepare yourself: the Brabus 900 Crawler costs a whopping $800,000.
Perhaps it’s not the most money-savvy purchase, but it is high on our list of dream cars. There’s also another problem: Brabus is only making 15 models, so getting your hands on one could be next to impossible.
To the lucky owners out there—have fun. We might not be able to see your Brabus 900 Crawler from the interstate, but we’ll probably hear the rumble of that 900-horsepower engine coming over the dunes.
