The interior of a car can be just as important as the exterior. For sedans, which have been decreasing in popularity in recent years, it can be more important than ever to have a high quality interior. So, does the 2022

Camry have a good enough interior for car shoppers to consider buying it?

Overview of the Toyota Camry interior

The 2022 Toyota Camry itself is a sleek, midsized sedan with fair fuel economy and handling.
Consumer Reports
did a detailed overview of the Toyota Camry and found its interior very nice for the price.
According to CR, the eighth-gen Camry is based on an all-new global platform that is shared with the C-HR and Prius. The interior has a sleek and modern appearance. The modern vibes are thanks to its nice angular center stack layout and a clean design.
All of the Toyota Camrys come with Toyota's Entune 3.0 infotainment system. There is a 7-inch standard touch screen, but for higher trims, a 9-inch version is available. As a potential plus, there are physical knobs for volume tuning.

2022 Toyota Camry interior details

Fit and finish: Overall, the interior of the Toyota Camry has become softer, with fewer hard surfaces (though hard plastic edges still exist). The trunk is almost fully lined, but it does have plastic covering the hinges and the felt lining isn't very impressive.
Dash: The upper dash has thick padding. The mid-dash has clean stitched and padded leather. There is a faux wood trim in front of the passenger, and there is a nice glossy black center stack.
Wonky and hard-touch areas: The plastic around the center console is, unfortunately, lacking in appearance and texture, making it look unfinished. The climate control knobs create a hollow sound, and the small knobs and buttons look subpar in quality.
Interior space and seating: Good news is that while the seats aren’t exactly luxurious, they’re good basic seats. There is also generous space in the rear for convenience and comfort. Surprisingly, the rear seating area is not as spacious as the previous generation Camry.
Navigation and phone: The Camry’s Scout GPS Link app has unreliable connectivity according to CR, and phone pairing is a frustratingly convoluted process. Once paired, though, Bluetooth and supported audio streaming function quite well.
Heating: All trims of the Camry come with at least a standard dual-zone automatic climate system as well as heated exterior mirrors. The higher trims also offer heated seats and a heated steering wheel.
Cup holders: Nothing fantastic or horrible about the cup holders. There are two cup holders behind the shifter for front passengers. Rear passengers get 2 shared cup holders in the fold-down center armrest. All 4 doors do have bottle holders.

What’s the verdict?

Overall, the 2022 Toyota Camry seems to have an improved interior compared to the previous generation Camry’s. While it isn’t the most luxurious interior, for the price it’s hard to argue with!
Surfaces are softer and more modern, and the Camry is able to provide passengers with a smooth and comfortable ride.
