So many fictional
car brands
exist in the Disney universe alone. The Cars franchise has probably sold the most
diecast toys
for Disney, but it's far from the only car-centric Disney series! While not every Disney car can talk and crack jokes, that doesn't make them any less loveable.
In fact, some Disney cars are inspired by real-world classics. Here are our favorite Disney cars from this
D23
list.

What are some of the oldest Disney cars?

One of Disney's earliest cars was Donald Duck's absolute lemon known as 313. It's usually a red roadster, though some cartoons and comic strips give it a blue body.
It was officially known as a 1934 Belchfire Roundabout, but it's actually based on a 1938 American Bantam. The American Austin Car Company was only in business for four years before filing for bankruptcy. Contrary to 313's performance, the American cars themselves were perfectly fine.
Another infamous Disney car is the motorcar that we see in The Adventures of Ichabod and Mr. Toad. Mr. Toad seemingly obtained the car in good faith after trading the deed to his home for the car's title. It turned out that the previous owners, a gang of weasels, had actually stolen the car.
It eventually gets returned to its proper owners, but Mr. Toad's journey is definitely an entertaining ride. The car appears to be based on a Hotchkiss X6 Tourer from around 1910.

The sentient VW Beetle from The Love Bug is undeniably one of the most iconic Disney cars. At the heart of Herbie is a 1.2-liter engine that makes around 40 horsepower and 65 lb-ft of torque. Fortunately, this tiny powertrain doesn't stop Herbie from racing his rivals and going on adventures.
Lola, first seen in Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D, is also a 60s beauty. The C2 Corvette arguably has the most distinctive body style of any generation, plus a speedy powertrain. Lola is even more special with flying abilities and machine guns to rival any car in Bond's arsenal.

In Wreck-it-Ralph, Vanellope and Ralph work together to build a new kart after Vanellope's previous one is destroyed. Vanellope is a character in the fictional racing arcade game Sugar Rush where a group of pint-sized racers drive candy-inspired go-karts.
The new and improved Candy Kart they build features four different cookie tires with treads made from the stickiest gummy worms. The engine sounds like a two-stroke six-cylinder and is aided by three exhaust straws. The body is covered by glittery chocolate with sprinkles underneath and features a large wafer cookie spoiler.
Obviously, we had to include the iconic Lightning McQueen in this list. While many cars from this universe are actually a part of fictional makes, Lightning is based on a Chevy Corvette. Specifically, his design blends elements from both the C6 and the classic C1.
The Cars writer further confirmed that Lightning would have NASCAR wheels and a big rear spoiler like any other stock car. He also has exposed headlights from the C6 and probably the same fiberglass body paneling that made the Corvette C1 so famous.

What kind of auto insurance would a Disney car need?

Many of the cars on this list were produced in the early 20th century. As such, they would need a specialized classic car insurance plan. To protect himself as he races around the track, Lightning would probably want extensive collision coverage.
We're not exactly sure how you would be able to protect the sensitive, possibly melty components of Vanellope's Candy Kart. In any case, signing up with
