super cars
are already the cream of the crop, but Pagani might’ve outdone this already outrageous class with their latest sports car, the Pagani Huayra Codalunga.
Just saying the car’s name out loud makes you feel expensive, and rightfully so. Pagani priced this beauty at $7.3 million.
If that astronomical figure doesn’t keep you out of the potential buying circle, availability will. Only five Codalungas were built and all are accounted for.

Pagani Huayra Codalunga: art on wheels

The Huayra is not new to Pagani. The automaker released its first car under the name in 2011, and
Robb Report
says seven other variants followed, along with 13 one-of-a-kind experiments.
If that sounds odd to you, you don’t know Pagani. The Huayra is only the second model the brand has offered since it was founded in 1992. The company has hinted that a third could be on its way, but it chose to build five Codalungas before saying goodbye.
Critics are glad they did. Created by Pagani’s special projects division, the Codalunga—which means longtail in Italian—is the most striking Huayra yet, according to car sites like
Jalopnik
The team simplified earlier designs and changed the back end to emulate the Le Mans race cars of the ‘60s. The light blue exterior and brown leather interior match the classic era’s aesthetic. Behind the seats sits a V12 engine that offers 820 hp.

Pagani Huayra Codalunga: the most valuable car in the world?

With its $7.3 million price tag, it’s pretty safe to sat that the five the Pagani Huayra Codalunga owners are in the “mega-rich” tax bracket. Think Bezos. Think Gates. Think Musk.
But it’s not quite expensive enough to be the most valuable car in the world. According to the now-outdated list at
Luxe Digital
, the Huayra Codalunga sits in seventh place, carefully wedging itself between the $6 million Bugatti Divo and the $9 million Bugatti Centodieci.
It’s not even the most valuable Pagani. That honor goes to the Pagani Zonda, the company’s original model, which is listed in fourth place for $17.6 million.
The Bugatti La Voiture Noire and Rolls-Royce Boat Tail follow, and way ahead at $70 million, the most valuable car in the world is still the 1963 Ferrari 250 GTO.

What does super car insurance look like?

Car collectors come in different shades and stripes. Some are hobby mechanics who like to tinker and restore classics. Usually, these people use these prized possessions sparingly and handle them with extreme caution. This is why classic car coverage is so cheap.
But another type of collector, the type that would be seriously interested in something like the Pagani Huayra Codalunga, is more concerned about covering the value of the car than finding cheap car insurance.
For them, collector car insurance covers their vehicles based more specifically on agreed value, with the assumption that their values will appreciate over time.
