background
Ferrari is always releasing astounding luxury vehicles which rival the competition with their performance and style. One of their latest vehicles is the
Ferrari
296 GTB, a car that should not be taken lightly.

Specs on the Ferrari 296 GTB

The 2022 Ferrari 296 GTB is a mid-engine mid-motor 2-door coupe. The vehicle has an eight-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission that sends power to the rear wheels, making it quite obviously a rear-wheel drive car.
The 296 GTB has a twin-turbocharged 24-valve 3.0-liter V-6 engine along with a plug-in hybrid system. From the V6 engine you get 654 hp with 546 lb-ft of torque which, with the hybrid system’s 164 hp and 232 lb-ft of torque, you get a combined 818 hp and 778 lb-ft of torque.
While the vehicle can drive on electricity on its own from the 6.0-kWh battery pack beneath the floor of the vehicle, the battery is mostly for the sake of performance and providing better fuel economy.
The Ferrari 296 GTB has four drive modes eDrive, Performance, Hybrid, and Qualify with each providing a different driving experience and has assisted power steering and a brake-by-wire system.
Car and Driver
believes that the GTB can go from 0 to 60 mph in 2.9 seconds and 0 to 100 mph in 5.7 seconds and has a top speed of 205 mph.
Car and Driver’s estimated fuel economy for the coupe is 18 mpg city, 22 mpg highway, and a combined total of 22 mpg. However, with the gas and electric motors working together you can get 60 MPGe and an EV range of 10 miles.

Interior of the 2022 Ferrari 296 GTB

The 2-door Ferrari 296 GTB is simple beyond the multitude of controls on the steering wheel which Car and Drivercalls an “ergonomic nightmare”. The dashboard has a digital interface inspired by the SF90.
The seats and other areas of the vehicle are covered in Italian leather which is to be expected of the luxury car maker. The center console has a little place to store the GTB’s ignition key and the console itself has a push–button shifter which is reminiscent of older manual Ferraris.
This Ferrari also contains an integrated head-up display atop the dashboard.
Straying from the pack, the GTB doesn’t have a typically expected infotainment system. Rather it has the functions for sound and navigation systems within the digital gauge cluster which Car and Driverfound “clumsy to use”.
However, the passenger does get a digital display that the company states is meant to immerse them into the experience of the car and make them feel more like a co-driver.

Save on car ownership costs, no matter what car you drive

The 2022 Ferari 296 GTB will cost quite a pretty penny coming at $322,986, however the performance and luxury seem to justify the cost.
