Ford is not your everyday auto manufacturer. It has a wide range of high-performing
trucks
like the die-hard F series that has dominated the market for several decades. These trucks are tough, well equipped, and ready to work in unimaginable conditions.
But today, we’re focusing on
Ford's award-winning
Super Cab, a member of the F family that bundles up comfortability and reliability.
Super Cab is one of three cab configurations found on Ford F-150 trucks. The other two are Regular Cab and SuperCrew, and depending on the configuration, they can accommodate two to six passengers, thanks to ample interior space.

How is Super Cab Compared to Regular and SuperCrew?

While the three are eerily similar, a closer look into their design will reveal some key differences. Each truck has a unique door design, seating space, and cabin space.
To begin with, Regular Cab has a compact seating space with a single row of seats that can accommodate one passenger and the driver.
The truck's practicality is worth mentioning. It is light and converts most of its power to hauling heavy loads. The only difference is that it doesn't diversify into trim levels compared to SuperCrew and SuperCab.
With a solid powertrain, it has a maximum towing capacity of 12,200 pounds, 100 pounds more than its runners-up. You can rely on the truck's longer, sturdier beds to move objects as heavy as 3,300 pounds (maximum payload capacity).
SuperCrew, on the other hand, is a highly dependable off-road truck with a proven record of reliability and toughness. It was designed for hauling heavy loads with a maximum payload capacity of 2,910 pounds and a towing capacity of 11,900 pounds.
The truck can comfortably accommodate six people, and for easy accessibility, it has two extra doors leading to the rear seats. The only downside of SuperCrew is its rear doors do not open fully according to
Car and Driver
.
At the center of today's discussion is the Super Cab, which features XLT and Lariat trim levels and longer bed lengths with a maximum payload capacity of 3,020 pounds.
The vehicle is equipped with a hybrid powertrain and a 2.0-liter Ford Ranger EcoBlue diesel engine. Buyers can also choose to go with a turbocharged 3.5-liter V6 engine paired with a robust drivetrain that performs impeccably.
The bottom line is, SuperCab has narrower doors compared to other cabs and has XLT and Lariat trim levels, better than Regular but inferior to SuperCrew. However, it has better towing and payload capacity than SuperCrew.

Is Super Cab the best cab configuration?

The Super Cab falls in between Regular and SuperCrew. Hence, if you have a growing family with kids, it has just enough space to carry them around, making it better than the Regular Cab.
Similarly, if you are running a small business, for example, a barbecue joint, its large trailer is advantageous over SuperCrew.
Moreover, the configuration is available in F-150 and F-350 trucks, with bed sizes varying from 6 to 8 feet. Because it was designed to carry more, the Super Cab has an additional row of seats and two more doors to accommodate six passengers.
The only downside is all the doors are not full-size compared to SuperCrew.

Price and where to find a Super Cab

F-150 SuperCabs are available on
Ford's
website with a price tag of $29,290. Selected customers may enjoy Ford's Flex Buy, Standard Purchase, and Red Carpet Lease credit programs. Here you will get the car at a fraction of the original cost and pay the balance in discounted installments.
Equally important, the truck is available at trusted auto shops, but the price will be slightly higher and depends on region and model.
