Snow Challenge is Too Big For the Ford Bronco

The hype around the Ford Bronco has been immense. But how will the Bronco handle the elements?

Everglades in the wild.
Last month an unlikely California snowfall hit Death Valley of all places, and Mike Levine, Director of North American Communications for Ford, took to Twitter to document the wintry off-roading capabilities of the upcoming
2022 Ford Bronco
Everglades. And luckily for potential buyers, the highlights of the Everglades don't stop when the sun comes out.
In 2021, Ford began production of the Bronco for the first time since discontinuing it in 1996. A lot has changed in the auto industry in the last 25 years, and many dirt road-loving drivers have moved on, primarily to Jeep Wranglers as a modern alternative.
This year, it appears Ford has embraced the challenge, as they're now looking to perfect the Bronco’s comeback with the 2022 model.
Unlike vintage predecessors, this reboot will default as 4-door, 4 wheel drive, with 10-speed automatic transmission. The
new tech
also specializes in off-roading by integrating XMaps and the Apple CarPlay app so drivers can opt for topographical or satellite guidance.

MORE: Is the Ford Bronco Better Than the Jeep Wrangler?
If the standard Bronco Raptor isn't enough to lure in buyers, Ford is upping the ante—and the hype—by showcasing the Everglades.
And some of the technology is ridiculous. For example, it will come factory-equipped with an air snorkel and
Zeon 10-S Warn winch
Said snorkel’s safe wading benefits were on full display in Levine’s Death Valley photoshoot: movie-worthy shots showed the Everglades’ Goodyear Territory MT 35-inch mud-terrain tires spraying up snow like pellets of gravel. And for those terrains and seasons where the precipitation isn't frozen, the Everglades can
navigate
depths up to 36.4 inches without dirt, snow, or swamp infiltrating the engine.
Life happens, though, especially if you're prone to traversing wetlands, and tracking some of the scenery into your car is inevitable. That's where the swamp-proof interior with Marine-grade vinyl seating and removable washable flooring comes in. No need for a separate Weather-Tec upgrade.
Meanwhile, if it's the mud outside the car that's threatening your plans, the Everglades is ready to handle it, with its Warn winch boasting a 100-foot synthetic line that reels in weight at a 27% faster rate than other models. It's also waterproof and crash-tested, leading the charge alongside the Ford Performance bumper and safari bar.
