For the 2021 model year,
Ford
will introduce a legit new version named the Rattler, which will join the current-generation Ford F-150. Ford CEO Jim Farley has teased the new truck on Twitter, disclosing only the nameplate.

Rattler is a low-level off-roading trim

On top of the F-150's basic XL trim, which starts at just under $30,000 for the model year 2022, Ford has added a
new off-road package
called the Rattler. We're unsure whether Ford intends  the Rattler package to be exclusively an XL-level option or as a standalone trim, similar to the Tremor and F-150 Raptor.
The Rattler distinguishes itself stylistically with fender vent badging and small graphics inspired by rattlesnakes. Rapid Red Tricoat, Iconic Silver, Avalanche, Oxford White, Stone Gray, Carbonized Gray, Agate Black, and Antimatter Blue are available exterior colors.

Features of the Rattler when included on F-150s

The Rattler is more than simply a sticker pack, but it is still far from the Tremor or the Raptor. The Rattler comes with a four-wheel-drive as standard, as well as FX4 Off-Road Package features, such as an electronic rear locking mechanism, hill descent control, and specially tuned off-road shocks wrapped around painted aluminum wheels.
A 2.7-liter V6 EcoBoost motor is standard equipment on 2022 F-150 XLs equipped with Ford's premium off-road FX4 package, so it's safe to assume that the Rattler will also have the same engine.
The Rattler's interior features unusual details like onyx seats with burnished bronze highlights and stitching that complements the instrument panel trim, providing a vaguely desert-like motif.

What else is unique about the Rattler?

While the arrival of the 2023 Ford F-150 Rattler may not surprise performance pickup truck enthusiasts, Ford has infused the latest edition to the F series with some fresh zest. Despite being based on the 2022 Ford F-150 XL, the new Ford F-150 Raptor features distinct characteristics from the different trim levels. And these adjustments go beyond the purely aesthetic.
Ford designed the 2023 F-150 Rattler as a desert-focused off-roader, and the Blue Oval has lived up to the "Rattler" moniker. The upcoming Rattler will have design elements of rattlesnake-inspired graphics and snakeskin styling. The side fenders include "Rattler" badging. Even the interiors include golden accents and delicate stitching, lending the Rattler the look and feel of a proper off-road pickup truck.
Though we hope the new Ford F-150 Rattler does not rattle following a harsh off-roading session, Ford has already incorporated items to the trim level to aid in the vehicle's rattle establishment. Notable are the dual-tip exhausts, which Ford is confident will produce a distinctive and robust exhaust tone.
