Honda offered the Clarity in EV, hybrid plug-in, and hydrogen-cell models, but the model’s production ended in August 2021, though Honda will lease the vehicles through 2022. The plug-in started at about $35,000, while the fuel cell started at $60,000.
For a hatchback, the Toyota Prius Prime manages to pull in a low-profile back window to improve aerodynamics and improve efficiency. The Limited edition includes extra aesthetics at a starting price of $35,000, only $5,000 above the more basic LE.

With standard SUVs, utilitarianism is the most common demand. However, when you want to work a little fun into the design, crossovers get the picture.
Ford got into the spirit with the introduction of the 2022 Ford Bronco Sport, aka the Baby Bronco. The Bronco Sport carries a tougher look than many crossovers and has the off-road capabilities to back up that look with a price starting at $28,000.
The Jeep Renegade
features that signature Jeep seven-slot grille, but everything else about the boxy little crossover is distinct from its bigger cousins. The Renegade is more rugged and roomier than many crossovers in its class, but if you want to truly go off-road, you'll need to reach up to the Trailblazer trim tier. The basic Sport starts at about $25,000, whereas the Trailblazer starts at $31,000. Formerly a Scion model, the C-HR survived when Toyota spiked Scion. Designed to appeal to the youth market, the C-HR has just enough funk and spunk to stand out from the bubble-shaped or boxy crossover rivals. The Toyota C-HR is also budget-friendly with a starting price of just under $24,000.
Keeping it compact
Compact cars may be more common as automakers struggle to meet efficiency standards and energy-conscious consumers satisfy their desires by converting to electric vehicles. That being said, our list of quirky compact cars certainly includes an EV or two.
Hyundai has trimmed its Veloster lineup down to one version, the Veloster N, which is the most unique and sporty of the hatchbacks. Its sculpted design and protruding fenders make it look as fast as the Veloster N is built to run. The Veloster N also was the most expensive trim, with a starting price of $33,000.
The Chevy Bolt EV might be the only EV designed to maintain the look of a typical subcompact, but with many unique features, such as the snub-nose front end (after all, there's no engine under there). The Bolt EV also keeps comfort in mind with its extra-tall roofline to give the car a roomier interior. The Bolt EV also is one of the more economical EVs with a starting price of $31,500.
On to the MINI Cooper Clubman: it may sport the Cooper front end, but its stretched design and Dutch doors on the back make it a truly unique everyday driver for the bold of heart. The Clubman starting price sits just under $30,000
