Porsche
is cheap, but some are more un-cheap than others. The German automaker’s most expensive 2022 model, the Panamera Exclusive Series, starts at the near-supercar price of $263,900—nothing to scoff at.
The top-tier Panamera might be on the top of the Porsche food chain, but it definitely isn’t part of the
luxury car
brand’s most familiar nameplates. No three-digit number dons its moniker. But that don’t make it any less appealing to the few who can afford it.
While turbo trims of this year’s 911 and Cayenne also reach past the six-digit starting price, neither could outdo the Panamera Exclusive Series. Why, you ask?

looks a little closer to find out.

What makes the Porsche Panamera Exclusive Series so special?

The Panamera line is unique to Porsche in a way that makes it more similar to other cars—its engine sits upfront. But this difference is not what makes its Exclusive Series more expensive than its siblings.
Part of the reason has to do with its size. While its
V8 engine
packs a similar punch to Porsche’s sports cars, the Panamera’s four-door interior easily offers what
Car and Driver
calls “limo-like legroom.”
The spacious backseat makes one aspect of the Exclusive series possible—a state-of-the-art entertainment system for rear-seated passengers.
But while the added tech and other upgrades add up, the most dominant factor to the car’s price might be its rarity.
Business Insider
says Porsche only plans to build 100 of them.

What are other Porsche Panameras like?

The Panamera Exclusive Series pushes luxury to the extreme. But the regular Porsche Panamera isn’t too shabby either. The sedan marries the brand’s two most successful segments—sports cars and luxury SUVs—into one powerful yet surprisingly practical car.
Every available powertrain impresses, whether it be the V8 that comes in the Exclusive Series, the two turbocharged V6s, or the 455 to 552-hp plug-in hybrids
Inside, space abounds. The low driver’s seat offers plenty of headspace for taller occupants, and again, that backseat keeps knees off the backs of seats.
On top of that, it’s all decked out in the level of luxury you’d expect from Porsche, with plenty of available upgrades to make it even more comfortable.

Obviously,
car insurance
for a Porsche Panamera Exclusive Series won’t be cheap. Even coverage for a regular Panamera averages out close to $3,000 a year. But the 100 lucky buyers probably aren’t looking for discounts. They’ll be more focused on the type of coverage.
The exclusivity of the Panamera Exclusive Series makes it a likely candidate for classic car insurance which is determined based on an agreed value between the provider and policyholder rather than the factors that determine regular car insurance.
