How Does the Pagani Huayra Roadster Differ From the Huayra Roadster BC?

Both the Pagani Huayra Roadster and Roadster BC are savage cars, with the BC building upon the successes of the original Roadster.

I have a friend who believes there’s no such thing as a bad donut, just varying degrees of good. Similarly, there’s no such thing as a bad (or slow, or less powerful) Pagani
hypercar
, just varying degrees of insanely fast/beautiful/unique.
But with numerous iterations of their insanely fast/beautiful/unique Pagani Huayra, the Italian outfit has made various tweaks and changes along the way, each version ideally building on the last.

What are the Pagani Huayras all about?

Named after the Quechua God of Wind, Huayra-tata, the Pagani
Huayra
series took the place of the previously developed Pagani Zonda. The first version was unveiled in 2011 and the exclusive run of 100 units sold out almost instantly.
Top Gear magazine named it Hypercar of the Year and it immediately became another Italian hypercar staple.
From there, things only got more interesting with the improved Roadster and then Roadster BC.

The Pagani Huayra Roadster

After a secretive couple of years of development, Pagani released the Huayra Roadster at the 2017 Geneva Motor Show.
The most obvious difference to the new Roadster was its removable top. The horsepower and famous Pagani torque stayed the same as the previous iteration (754 hp and 738 lb-ft), but the aerodynamics were improved upon and the weight was cut.

All hail the Huayra Roadster BC

The Huayra Roadster is an engineering marvel and a huge accomplishment, but the Roadster BC iteration puts the series in another stratosphere.
As the single-track racing version of the Roadster, I suppose that’s to be expected. Unveiled in 2019, it’s been turning heads ever since.
Outfitted with the AMG 6.0 liter V-12 twin-turbo, the Roadster BC packs in 791 horsepower with 775 lb-ft of torque. All of this power is wrapped in chassis that is a highly specific blend of carbon and titanium that keeps the body wicked light but stiff as a board.
Oh, the weight is also shaved down even more than the already feathery Roadster. Did I say zippy?
Both are rear-wheel drive but the Roadster BC uses a 7-speed Xtrac sequential gearbox with a dual-clutch while the Roadster relies on a single-clutch setup.
Sure there are cars like the Bugatti or Koenigseggthat pack a staggering amount of horsepower and have higher-end top speeds than the Pagani Huayra, but the punchy acceleration (and braking) into and out of a corner with the Italian hypercar boutique is unmatched.
