The Mercury Marauder had impressive features

The Mercury Marauder was a quick, nimble, and powerful muscle car. Under the hood, drivers could find a 4.6-liter V8 engine paired with a four-speed automatic transmission. The combination of the engine and transmission in this muscle car allowed drivers to handle the car swiftly, plus made for an efficient and practical ride.
According to
Hot Cars
, the Mercury Marauder was known to
handle bad weather and poor driving conditions extremely well
. In the early days of the Mercury Marauder, this feature was credited to rack-and-pinion steering, but as the muscle car evolved, traction control was added on, too. Although drivers might be able to feel an occasional bump or hole in the road, there was rarely any damage to the car itself.
Not to mention, the Mercury Marauder was stylish. The car had sleek lines, a fastback roof, and half covers for wheels. There were flashy exterior colors available like silver and crimson. On the interior, the car was comfortable and decked out in leather details.

The Mercury Marauder was around for a long time

The Mercury Marauder was a hit, seen clearly by its longtime sales record. The muscle car was produced by the Mercury division of Ford, on and off, for over 40 years. The first time the Mercury Marauder hit the roads was in the ‘60s, and it stayed for about 10 years, until the early ‘70s.
Then, in 1998, Mercury decided to bring the Marauder for a comeback. The new concept debuted at an auto show, where it got massive crowd approval. However, the iconic muscle car had a shorter second run, as it was discontinued by 2003 due to declining sales. The Mercury Marauder was Ford’s last ever rear-wheel drive sedan.
