The Bentley Flying Spur is the "quintessential British
luxury
sedan," which is a metric that's hard to quantify so it can be used liberally in Bentley's automotive marketing material.
That being said, it's still an absolutely gorgeous car, much like its mechanically similar cousin the
Continental GT
.

Styling

The
Flying Spur
boasts crystal-style jeweled headlamps and a polished chrome quad tailpipe, as well as a choice of 80 different paint schemes, including an extended range featuring finishes from the company's Mulliner luxury division.
Its 20-inch five twin-spoke alloy wheels are painted in silver. The interior is also fitted with standard walnut appliques with even more available options and multiple choices for seating material.

Performance

The
Bentley Flying Spur
can hit a max speed of 198 mph and a 0-to-60 time of 4.0 seconds and produces 542 horsepower and 568 lb.-ft. of torque from its 4.0-liter twin-turbo V8 engine. It also has three drive modes: Comfort, Sport, and Bentley mode, which finds the best of both worlds.
A fourth drive mode technically exists called Custom that lets the driver adjust his or her settings to their preference.
It also includes a hybrid model for more efficient driving, with a 2.9-liter hybrid V6 and 100 kW electric motor delivering a combined 536 horsepower and 553 lb.-ft. of torque. With electric power alone, it can still produce 138 horsepower and a max speed of 87 mph.
Opting for the hybrid option gives you a special hybrid badge on the front as well as hybrid treadplates.

Tech

Keeping up with the times, the Bentley Flying Spur features Apple CarPlay and a built-in WiFi hotspot. Rear passengers can also control the audio and climate system using a wireless touch screen remote, as well as stream movies, games, and music on 10.1-inch touch screens on the backs of the front seats.
One optional feature is Bentley Dynamic Ride, which acts as an electric anti-roll system to keep the car stable when cornering without sacrificing ride comfort.

Built for you

The Flying Spur is an excessively customizable car, as Bentley buyers likely won't fret at the cost of additional goodies. The ultimate Flying Spur is the
Flying Spur Mulliner
Mulliner, Bentley's ultra-luxe bespoke vehicle division, threw in a number of handcrafted details such as welcome lighting, illuminated treadplates, choice of eight seating and trim color combination, as well as other options too numerous to name here.
Buyers can pretty much change whatever they want about the vehicle. It also soups up the motor, offering a 12-cylinder, 626-horsepower, 664 lb.-ft torque 6-liter motor for a max speed of 207 mph and a 0-to-60 time of 3.7 seconds.

How much does it cost?

It's a lot, but not as much as the other bespoke vehicles at Bentley. The base Flying Spur starts at $204,500, while the W-12-equipped Flying Spur Mulliner starts at $309,000.
If that's out of reach now but you're still undeterred, you better start finding ways to save up. Chances are you could probably stand to save a little more on your car insurance.
