The McLaren 765LT Spider is a sight to not only behold but to feel as you press down on the gas and feel the roar of power beneath.

McLaren
continues to release jaw-droppingly powerful cars, especially when it’s up against some stiff competition. One of the brand’s most recent additions to the hypercar race is the majestic 765LT Spider.

Specs on the McLaren 765LT Spider

The McLaren 765LT Spider is similar to the 720S in many regards, including the fact that they both share a 4.0-liter V8 engine and a seven-speed dual-clutch transmission.
The vehicle is a two-seater rear-wheel drive convertible that gets 775 hp, 45 more than the 720S. It can get from 0 to 60 mph in 2.4 seconds, and a 0 to 100 mph in 5.4 seconds.
Since the EPA doesn’t give the estimated mpg on McLarens,
Car and Driver
deduces that it will have about the same mpg as the 720S. This is approximately 15 mpg city, 22 mpg highway, and 18 mpg combined.

Design of the McLaren 765LT Spider

The McLaren 765LT Spider maintains a light weight and keeps aerodynamics in mind so it can perform well on the track.
The interior is, once again, similar to the 720S in terms of customizations available to the various soft-grain leather and faux-suede upholstery, and the multitude of color options available.
One key difference between both vehicles is that, as mentioned previously, a light weight is key—and that does affect the refinement of the vehicle. No one is saying the interior is ugly by any means (how could we when it comes to a McLaren?).  But its sibling does win in this regard.
These refinements include the Spider having lightweight seats, a thinner gas gauge (we gasp at the audacity), and removed carpet. Like many cars in its class, there’s limited cargo space, but that’s not really why you would pick this car to begin with.
When it comes to infotainment, there’s an 8-inch touch screen in the center of the passengers.
If you add some weight with luxuries, you have the option of getting a four-speaker sound system that gives you features that would not come standard, such as Bluetooth connectivity and SiriusXM satellite radio.
If you wanted to get really fancy (and why wouldn’t you?), you can get the Bowers & Wilkins sound system. If your concern is weight, though, keep in mind that all these infotainment features, aside from the screen, are optional.
Safety-wise, there aren’t many standard features. However, there are some available as upgrades, which include a 360-degree camera, front and rear parking sensors, and a front-end lift system.
