Few American car brands immediately indicate a status symbol as
Cadillac
, which is one reason why owning a Caddy is the dream of so many drivers. You don't have to drive a brand new Cadillac to experience the brand's luxury, though. There are plenty of great
Cadillac models from the early 2010s
that showcase the iconic Cadillac appeal, and one option is the 2014 Cadillac CTS-V Wagon.
According to
Motor Trend
, the 2014 Cadillac CTS-V Wagon surprised critics with its quickness when it first came out. However, reliability issues may make it harder to find today.

Specs of the 2014 Cadillac CTS-V Wagon

Because the speed was the most impressive part of Motor Trend's test drive, we'll start under the hood. The Cadillac CTS-V Wagon runs on a supercharged 6.2-liter V8 that results in 556 horsepower. However, when Motor Trend got to test it out, a Cadillac representative said it could get to even 580 in the right conditions.
With this engine, the 2014 Cadillac CTS-V Wagon can get from 0 to 60 miles per hour in just 3.9 seconds.
That's the sort of number that seems crazy coming from a wagon, but the CTS-V Wagon does it. This acceleration is even crazier considering how heavy this Cadillac is, coming in at 4,450 pounds.
As a Cadillac, it should come as no surprise that the 2014 CTS-V Wagon did have a higher retail price when it was released. A base CTS-V Wagon was priced at $67,125, but the version that Motor Trend tested was more expensive. Its MSRP was $75,355, more than $8,000 greater than the standard model.

What makes the Cadillac CTS-V Wagon unique?

Considering its weight, the 2014 Cadillac CTS-V Wagon's acceleration is what really makes it a head-turner. Motor Trend pointed out that its 0 to 60 mph time is the same as the Porsche 911. This time also made it slightly faster than the Camaro Z/28, which is really impressive for a wagon like the CTS-V.
Motor Trend also noted that the Cadillac CTS-V Wagon's quarter-mile was also impressive and matched the Camaro Z/28. Again, for a wagon, that is impressive.
However, while these are unique features to the Cadillac, they don't necessarily make it a better vehicle than a Porsche or a Camaro.
Wagons don't handle as well as sports cars, and this is even true for a Cadillac. The CTS-V Wagon can accelerate quickly, but that doesn't necessarily make it useful as a wagon.

According to
Kelley Blue Book
, you can find a used 2014 Cadillac CTS-V Wagon today for around $46,000. There are plenty of more affordable cars out there, but this does make it significantly cheaper than a new Cadillac.
There are plenty of CTS models from the same year and though they are not CTS-V Wagons, they are available for less.
Consumer Reports
says that a 2014 Cadillac CTS executive car can be found for as low as around $15,000. It might not have the same power as the CTS-V Wagon, but it still has the distinct Cadillac style!
