Titans do titan things. It's massive how industry-behemoth
Audi
has stayed true to form and wowed the automotive world once more with their luxury station wagon, the 2022 Audi RS6 Avant.
It has a trunk spacious enough to carry all
your road-trip or weekend-getaway luggage
, vehicle space accommodative of a quartet of very comfortable passengers, and offers enough performance to make its six-figure price seem a little more reasonable.
Let's take a look at the inner workings of the 2022 Audi RS6 Avant.

The 2022 Audi RS6 Avant's specs

Beneath the RS6 Avant's hood lies a twin-turbocharged 4.0-liter V-8 engine. It works in tandem with a 48-volt hybrid system that outputs a torque of 590 pound-feet and 591 horsepower.
The engine's connection to the 8-speed automatic Tiptronic transmission comes via the Quattro all-wheel-drive system. According to
Audi USA
, it's what makes the car launch from 0-60 mph in 3.1 seconds and covers the quarter-mile drag in just 11.5 seconds.
Its 21" or 22" wheels are housed under flared benders whose design came from the company's Audi Sport competition car line. The RS Sport seats offer luxury, from the tasteful honeycomb stitching to handy perks such as heating and ventilation.

The 2022 Audi RS6 Avant vs. its competitors

MORE: Can You Guess the State That Drives the Most Luxury Cars?
Because of its class, the 2022 RS6 Avant competes with a wide array of luxury cars. However, it also has a sporty edge to it, making it comparable with a Porsche Macan, or even a G-Wagon.
The RS6 Avant's biggest pro is undoubtedly the driving experience. It'll round corners smoothly, and shift lanes easily. Its impressive agility is further heightened thanks to its all-wheel-steering system—which can also switch to real-wheel steering to fight understeer.
Despite it being an impressive car and generally garnering positive reviews, there are still some drawbacks. Its central steering is somewhat lacking. While it takes corners well, the car feels slightly numb when the road is relatively smooth. It cheapens the experience, especially when compared to vehicles like the Porsche Panamera Sport Turismo or the Range Rover Sport.
Its cargo space is also slightly lacking. According to
Car and Driver
, the RS6 Avant offers 30 cubic feet of the regular cargo space and only 59.3 cubic feet when the rear seats are down.

What's the fuel economy of the 2022 Audi RS6 Avant?

MORE: According to the EPA, the Chevy Colorado Is Both the Most and Least Fuel-Efficient Truck
In terms of its fuel efficiency, the 2022 Audi RS6 Avant has figures similar to the outgoing model.
Car HP
highlights that this luxury station wagon has city numbers ranging up to 15 mpg and 22 mpg on the highway.
It has a surprisingly modest fuel tank at only 19.3 gallons. The 2022 RS6 Avant falls behind its rivals here, offering a range of approximately 424 miles on the highway and only 289 miles within the city. In terms of fuel efficiency, it's on par with the Porsche Panamera, and both are second to the Mercedes-AMG E63.
