Why the name Hakone?
Hakone is a town southwest of Tokyo with several mountains and spring resorts. Toyota named the 2020 edition to honor the town's iconic pavement, called the Hakone turnpike. The car features a green exterior and bronze-finished wheels to blend with nature.

The 2020 Toyota 86 Hakone Edition has the same power and performance as the 86 British Racing. The entire 86 line features a 2.0-liter 4-cylinder engine with up to 205 horsepower. The 86 Hakone can sprint from 0 to 60 mph in less than 7 seconds, topping out at 140 mph.
It seems the brake calipers and the leather seats are what separate the Hakone from the other 86 models. Rather than the red Brembo brake calipers from the 86 British Racing edition, the 86 Hakone uses different brake calipers which are not red. Other exterior tweaks include power mirrors, chrome exhaust tips, fog lamps, LED headlights.
The Hakone 86 model comes with tan leather seats with black inserts in the middle. You can spot similar color combinations on the center console, dash treatment, and gear selector area.
