When it comes to
pickup trucks
there are many options to choose from. While electric pickups like the Ford F-150 Lightning might be the way of the future for pickups, for now, many brands are still sticking to their gas-powered fleets.
Chevy announced the latest 2023 Colorado, which should be able to combat some stiff competition given its excellent safety features, available trims, and a glorious infotainment system.

Specs and trims of the 2023 Chevy Colorado

The 2023 Chevy Colorado comes in five packages: the WT, LT, Z71, Trail Boss, and ZR2. All trims have a 2.7-liter inline-four and an eight-speed automatic transmission. However, each trim varies in torque and horsepower.
For the WT and LT the vehicles get 237 horsepower and 259 pound-feet of torque and the Z71 and Trailboss get 310 horsepower and 390 pound-feet of torque.
The highest available trim, the ZR2 has the same 2.7-liter engine but with “Turbo High-Output” and gets 310 horsepower and 430 pound-feet of torque.
As the trims get higher the towing capacity does as well, with 3,500 pounds for the lower two trims and 7,700 pounds for the higher trims.
While four-wheel drive is available in all the trims, it comes standard on the higher-end trims.
The highest trim, the ZR2, comes with a special Desert Boss package that has 17-inch bedlock wheels, an off-road bumper, a light bar, and a sports bar with a sail panel.

Interior and infotainment on the 2023 Chevy Colorado

All of the 2023 Chevy Colorado trims will come with an 11.3-inch touchscreen with Chevy’s Google Built-In infotainment system.
The gear shifter now moves to the right with this new generation of the Colorado to make room for a drive mode dial on the center console that has the options of Normal, Tow/Haul, Terrain, Off-Road, and Baja.
Safety features that come standard include rear-cross traffic warnings, adaptive cruise control, lane departure warning, and forward collision alert.
When it comes to the trunk bed, along the front bed wall there are tire grooves for motorcycle or bike tires. Storage-wise there is a “watertight in-tailgate storage system (equipped with a drain, though no mention of insulation so far)”.
