Believe it or not, Bentley Motors has an even more luxurious division dedicated to
customizing
your already luxe coach.

What is Bentley Mulliner?

Mulliner
is a name for a coachmaker historically based in London. It's gone through a few iterations and changes through the years, but it's still synonymous with quality bespoke body work.
H.J. Mulliner, for example, built the bodies for most Bentley Continental fastback coupes in the 1950s.
Today, Bentley Mulliner is essentially the brand's ultra-premium division which produces bespoke luxury versions of its vehicles. It's partitioned into three portfolios.

Collections, coachbuilt and classics, oh my

Mulliner Collections focuses on producing more luxurious models of the
Continental
and
Flying Spur
. It gives the customer the chance to personalize their new vehicle even more than usual.
Mulliner Coachbuilt lets customers work with a team of specialist designers to personalize their new vehicle with unique materials and specially curated options.
The first example of such a vehicle offered by Mulliner Coachbuilt is the two-seater Bentley Bacalar, but new models are in the works.
The Mulliner Bacalar, based on the Continental GT Speed, boasts a twin-turbo W-12 (that's 12 cylinders in a W configuration) engine producing 650 horsepower and 664 lb.-ft. of torque.
The Bacalar is important to note because it has just 12 examples in production, with just eight of those currently in the hands of customers so far. At $1.9 million apiece, they're not cheap.

Bentley Mulliner is reviving the classics

Bentley Mulliner has recently focused on bringing back bespoke builds ("continuation series") of iconic Bentley vehicles in its Classic portfolio, including the Speed Six, which won Le Mans in 1929 and 1930. Only 12 examples of the reverse-engineered car would be made.
It's not the first classic pre-war car the automaker has brought back to life; Bentley Mulliner also gave a similar treatment to the Bentley Blower in 2021, which was a 1929 supercharged 4.5-liter race car.
Only four of the original Blowers were built, and similarly, this line of revived Blowers was limited to just 12 units—all of which were already spoken for at the time of the company's announcement.

How much does the Bentley Mulliner cost?

If the cost of Aston Martin's DB5 Goldfinger Continuation car was any indicator—about $4.6 million—then it's likely to be very out of reach for all but the wealthiest and well-connected car enthusiasts.
The Bentley Blower Continuation Series was available starting at $2.1 million per unit and has already sold out.
But hope is not lost. Bentley Mulliner is going to produce more vehicles like the Bacalar and the Blower. In the meantime, let's get you ready to pounce on your next dream Bentley by helping you save some money on your car insurance.
