The Kia Telluride Nightfall Edition Is a Really Snazzy Upgrade

The Kia Telluride Nightfall Edition takes a midsize crossover that already wowed the judges and gives them even more to praise.

In January 2021,
Kia
gave itself a makeover in the form of a new logo.
The simple, all-caps “KIA” that once adorned all vehicles from the South Korean automaker was replaced by a stylish, geometric rendering of the name. It looks a bit like the “K” is connected to a backwards “N” if you glance quickly, but once the “A” comes into focus, the whole thing just smacks of cool futurism.
This change was no accident—Kia’s new logo is an emblem of their commitment to knocking the socks off of car people. Here’s why the Kia Telluride, Nightfall edition, does just that.
The 2022 Kia Telluride Nightfall Edition

A consistent winner

Car and Driver
recently added the 2022 Kia Telluride to its “10Best” list, making this the third year in a row that Kia’s midsize SUV has earned this award. It has been consistently praised for its comfortable and spacious cabin, impressive safety features, and excellent affordability. For drivers looking to cart around lots of people without sacrificing look and feel, the Telluride is a great option.
The 2022 Telluride comes with some fun new features. Naturally it sports the new logo, and drivers can now enjoy a more precise adaptive cruise control, which won’t even be stumped by nerve-wracking corner turns. The new cruise simply takes these into account, and helps alter the vehicle’s trajectory accordingly.
Additionally, it can tow 5,000 pounds and even do a bit of off-roading. It is fitting that it takes its name from a Colorado mountain town.

The 2022 Telluride may be turning heads, but let’s not forget an intriguing add-on from its 2021 predecessor: the James Bondian “Nightfall” option.
Ponying up the additional $1,295 to transform your Telluride is well worth it, if you want to have a car with the elegant sophistication of a Manhattanite’s closet. The Nightfall add-on takes all the accents on the Telluride and paints them black: the grille, rails, trim, and even the wheels get the black paintbrush.
The result is an elegant SUV that wouldn’t look out of place waiting to transport “Succession” characters from Park Avenue to the helipad. Its mysterious and bold look is almost Range Rover-esque, minus the hefty price.
The Nightfall takes a midsize crossover that already wowed the judges and gives them even more to praise. Maybe the Rolling Stones were singing about Kias along.
