Many automakers offer exclusive loyalty programs. Some offer deals on trade-ins and
maintenance
. Others partner with other brands to provide discounts on everything from exercise equipment to online learning tools. Still others give owners access to exclusive events.
The Jeep Wave program does it all, and for new owners, it’s free. Buying a model from 2021 or 2022 automatically gets you a membership. But if you own a Jeep from the 2015 model year or newer, the price of your membership depends on the model and model year of your car.
Does buying into the Jeep Wave program make sense?

For a non-luxury auto brand, Jeep went all-in on its loyalty program. Jeep Wave offers a lot of value to owners, and not just in regards to car ownership. Although, the program makes Jeep ownership cheaper, too.
Besides nixing the mileage limit on the SUV brand’s factory warranty, Jeep Wave also offers three free oil changes and tire rotations within the first three years, a $35 one-day car rental allowance during warranty-covered repairs, and 24/7 owner support.
But Jeep Wave is more than an extended warranty/maintenance package combo. Membership also gets you preferred treatment at Jeep brand events, deals from other retailers, and a six-month subscription to onX Offroad Elite, an off-road trail app.

How does Jeep Wave compare to competing loyalty programs?

Jeep Wave membership is hard to argue against if you already own one or you’ve decided it’s the brand for you. But is it good enough to convince outsiders to join the Jeep family?
A few loyalty programs from other brands give Jeep Wave a run for its money.
Antavo
says Subaru’s Benefits of Ownership program give customers access to insurance discounts, satellite radio subscriptions, invites to exclusive events, deals on trade-ins and leases, and more.
FordPass is also a strong contender, offering complimentary maintenance, discounts on parts and accessories, roadside assistance, and a subscription to Ford’s Connect & Control app.
Other automakers with loyalty programs include BMW, Nissan, and Volvo. Each brand has a unique set of benefits suited for its customers.

Should Jeep owners buy into Jeep Wave?

It costs $150 a year to buy into the Jeep Wave program. Deciding whether that’s money well spent depends on what type of driver you are.
If you are comfortable changing tires and oil yourself and aren’t interested in perks like event access and app subscriptions, you might want to save that money for something else. But if you tend to rely on your Jeep dealership for regular maintenance anyway, it’s likely a no-brainer.
That said, there are plenty of ways to save on Jeep ownership. The easiest and most effective way is to shop for
