Jeep Snazzberry: High Fashion, But Is It Available?

Limited edition colors can be a great marketing tool for car brands. Here’s a look at Jeep’s Snazzberry.

Painting a car white has its advantages: all that light reflection means you’ll stay cooler, and feeling cooler means using less A/C…translation, greater energy savings and fuel economy. Some studies even argue that white cars don’t show dirt as easily.
But it’s understandable if a colorful car can be too much of an enticement. The sheer variety of options for giving a car the full mani/pedi can be dizzying and exciting, and the phrase “limited edition” can be catnip.
Jeep
owners, here’s how you can get your Wrangler painted in the very cute limited edition color Snazzberry.

Car color can be everything

Having a colorful fleet is a strategic advantage for a car brand. Cars don’t have a “standard” color when they’re built—they’re just hunks of metal that haven’t been painted yet.
Brands can then set something like black or white as their standard so that anyone who chooses the standard feels like they’re saving money, and anyone who buys that costs-extra-military-green feels like they’re paying for an accessory that they want.
Plus, consumers love to be able to customize things, and you never know which color might resonate with an individual or group. In August of 2021, Jeep released a color called Tuscadero, reports
CompositesWorld
It’s unclear if Tuscadero shares the same paint code as Barbie pink, but it’s definitely a close call. This show-stopping magenta was ordered for 30,000 Wranglers in three months, says CompositesWorld, which wound up comprising almost 20% of all orders through the fall of 2021.
Clearly, a limited edition pink was just what the people wanted.

The Snazzberry razzmatazz

And Tuscadero wasn’t the only buzzy color that Jeep has released in recent years. A dark red raspberry, fittingly and charmingly titled Snazzberry, was among the highly discussed and anticipated Jeep offerings
Though it looks a bit muted on a small scale, Snazzberry is bold and eye-catching when a whole car wears it.
Snazzberry was released in 2020 but not available till the 2021 model year, according to
Mopar Insiders
, and was available for Wrangler and Gladiator models. Here in 2022, you can add Snazzberry ($295 extra) as a customization to your Jeep, but some
Wrangler forums
are sites of frustration and confusion.
Many Jeep consumers insist that there are issues with ordering and attaining Snazzberry. One user shares that the Jeep dealer they went to said Snazzberry was available, but then changed course and said it was no longer an option.
Another user commiserates, sharing their experience of missing out on Chief Blue the year prior. Others chime in with advice, most of which is along the lines of “call Jeep and tell them what you want.” These Snazzberry fans won’t stand for a sad ending.
So, this is our advice too: give your Jeep dealer a call and demand your Snazzberry. That is, only if you wanna give ‘em the ol’ razzle-dazzle.
