Aston Martin
DB5 may be busted-up, but that doesn’t mean it's lost its value. It is a James Bond car after all. The famous vehicle is back and is set to be auctioned off by Christie’s.

The Aston Martin DB5: a British luxury grand tourer

The No Time to Die vehicle is one of many from the film’s franchise that will be featured at the Sixty Years of James Bond event held in London. The auction will feature 60 lots of James Bond memorabilia, including a Jaguar XF and some off-roading Land Rover Defenders.
The silver coupe is one of 10 identical 1964 DB5 replicas built by Aston Martin for stunt work in the film. Underneath the classic Silver Birch paint, the auto houses a modern carbon fiber body and a straight-six engine. While it’s not the original DB5 engine, this model sports a 3.2-liter mill that comes from the E46 generation of the BMW M3 series.
The unique Aston Martin DB5 is one of two stunt cars that incorporated fake Gatling guns that come out from behind its headlights, and a high-tech smoke screen system. It even has scuffs and scrapes on the sides to reference the street chase scene that took place in Matera, Italy.
The stripped interior features bucket seats with racing harnesses, a hydraulic handbrake, and a roll cage. To sound as close to an authentic Aston Martin DB5 as possible, the exhaust system has also been modified.
Other than that, the aesthetic similarities are pretty exact. Since eight replicas were built but only one is for sale, Christie’s estimates enthusiasts will pay at least $2 million for the coveted coupe.

Additional Aston Martins for sale

More affordable than the Aston Martin DB5, a street-legal 1981 Aston Martin V8 was also featured in the movie, with an estimated $700,000 value. The vehicle is a callback to one used in the Timothy Dalton Bond film The Living Daylights, featured in a chase sequence across a frozen lake in Austria.
Aston Martin fans will also have the chance to bid on the 2018 DBS Superleggera driven by Lashana Lynch's Nomi character.
The auctions are scheduled to start on Sept. 15 and run until Oct. 5. The proceeds from the celebratory event will go to 45 charities and will support veterans of British special forces and intelligence agencies.
