The Range Rover has been a leader in
luxury cars
since 1970. Each generation has been highly anticipated, and the new 2022 models are no exception. What do these
redesigned Range Rovers
offer? And does the new line-up offer any EVs?

There are actually two generations of 2022 Range Rovers

Land Rover is doing something interesting this year. The automaker is selling their new generation of Range Rovers alongside their outgoing models. This means that right now, luxury SUV buyers have an abundance of options at varying price points.
According to
Kelley Blue Book
(KBB), this is the last year you can buy a new Range Rover for under $100,000. The least expensive outgoing models start at $92,000, while the cheapest "new" Range Rover has a base price of $104,000. What does the new Range Rover offer for a considerable jump in price?
Perhaps the most exciting aspect of the new 2022 Range Rover is the third row seat. Anyone who has used third row seats as additional cargo space or the delegated child seat will be pleasantly surprised. KBB reports that the "proper 3rd-row seat" can accommodate a "6-foot adult."

The 2022 Range Rover delivers on comfort and luxury

The Land Rover brand is synonymous with a comfortable ride and luxury finishes. In fact, Range Rovers are the vehicle of choice for several members of the British royal family. And when Prince Philip passed away in 2021, his hearse was a custom-designed Land Rover.
When it comes to riding in comfort, it seems that Range Rover knew what its pain points were. KBB notes that "unwieldy handling" has been corrected in the new 2022 models, via a stiff body platform and anti-roll system. This should provide a smoother ride on rougher, winding terrain.
Another upgrade featured in the new 2022 Range Rover is the 13-inch curved touchscreen, which replaces the previous generation's lackluster infotainment system.
As for luxury, multiple trim levels offer an array of amenities you'd expect in a Range Rover, like seat massager, a refrigerator, raised working table, and heated and cooled seats.

The Range Rover has long been a staple in the luxury vehicle space, and the new 2022 models look to continue that reputation. Several key features set this new generation apart from other luxury SUV brands.
The long-body Range Rovers definitely leads the pack with its truly accessible and comfortable third-row seats. And with the push of a button, the Autobiography trim converts the rear of the car into a tailgate event suite.
One place where the Range Rover lags is EV technology. As the number of
electric vehicle
charging stations increases, consumer demand will likely follow. While a plug-in hybrid is slated for a late 2022 release, luxury SUV drivers will have to wait until 2024 for a Range Rover EV.
