it had been 100 years since Ford acquired it and started a plan to make the company a luxury automaker.
Over the years, the automaker has created some
cool luxury cars
with interesting handling, performance, and designs. These are some of the most iconic models that have been produced in the last 100 years.

The 2017 Lincoln Navigator

The 2017 Lincoln Navigator is a Punch twin-turbo V-6 engine-powered SUV. Its engine produces 380 horsepower and 460 lb-ft of torque. Users have the option of a rear or four-wheel drivetrain.
The automaker released three trim levels: Navigator Select, Navigator L, and Navigator Reserve. The Reserve is the highest among the three, while the L provides the most cargo space.
Standard features across all trims include an 8.0-inch touchscreen with a Sync 3 infotainment system, heated and ventilated seats, dual-zone climate control, and power-folding third-row seats.
Motor Trend
lists the Cadillac Escalade, Lexus LX, and Mercedes-Benz GLS-Class as the biggest competitors of the Lincoln Navigator. All of them are luxury 3-row SUVs with all-wheel and two-wheel drive options.

1976 Lincoln Continental Mark IV Designer Series

Newsweek
states that the Lincoln Continental Mark IV Designer Series was created to present a model that can be personalized to the needs of high-end customers.
Lincoln even collaborated with fashion houses such as Givenchy, Cartier, Pucci, and Bill Blass to create unique designer logos in a color that the automaker placed on each opera window. The owner's name and the designer's logo appeared on a plaque placed on the instrument panel.
Initially, the Continental Series ran on a 16-valve V8 engine that produced 365 horsepower. However, by 1976, the automaker had reduced the output to 212 hp to comply with the new emission rules enacted in the country. The 1976 model ran on a Ford C6 three-speed auto transmission and could reach 120 mph.
The leading competitors to the Lincoln Continental Mark IV Designer Series at the time included the Cadillac Eldorado, which produced 234 hp and reached 117 mph, and the Rolls Royce Corniche, with an engine that produced 236 hp and reached 120 mph.
Rolls-Royce was the most expensive of the three and had more personalized features.

1956 Mark II Lincoln Continental

It is said that the Mark II Lincoln Continental was a project by William Clay Ford as a remembrance of his father, Edsel Ford, and the original Continental series.
It was an exclusive model that only had 3,005 units. Some of the famous figures that drove the model included President Dwight D. Eisenhower, Elvis Presley, and Nelson Rockefeller.
The luxury coupe was a 2-door hardtop related to the Futura by the same automaker. It ran on a six-liter, 285–300 hp, V8 engine mated with a turbo-drive 3-speed automatic transmission.
The main competitor to this popular luxury car was the Rolls-Royce Silver Shadow, one of which is owned by Freddie Mercury, and runs on a 6.2-liter, 220-hp V8 engine.
