How did GMC get a partnership with Harley Davidson for a car edition design?

For the last couple of decades, Ford was able to produce a Harley Davidson Edition for its F-150 pickup. While that pleased Ford fans, it left GMC truck enthusiasts wanting a special edition truck.

After a long wait, prayers were answered, and a new automaker was given a chance to team up with Harley-Davidson for its own trim.

The 2020 GMC Sierra was the first model pickup to get the chance of incorporating Harley logos throughout the truck. Of course, it wasn't GMC that put it together, though; the Tuscany Motor Company partnered with the famous motorcycle brand to give what GMC fans wanted, a Harley truck of their own.

What will the new GMC Harley Davidson Edition offer?

The 2020 GMC Harley-Davidson Edition came out with a bang. The new partnership took inspirational elements from the Harley-Davidson Fat Boy motorcycle and implemented over 65 individual brand-specific pieces throughout the pickup.

If you were lucky to get your hands on one, you would find several badges sprinkled here and there with the famous Harley logo. To pay homage to the brand's colors, you would get black perforated leather seating with orange accents within the interior and dual-color diamond stitching.

, sitting in the middle of the cabin was a center console adorned with the Harley badge that showed its production number.

For the exterior, it came with 22-inch Harley-Davidson aluminum wheels, a unique tuned exhaust, and a Fox Performance suspension that raises the pickup a couple of inches.

There were also 35-inch all-terrain tires bolted on the truck, customized fender flares, power running boards with lighting, functional fender vents with a unique front bumper, and an integrated LED light bar.

For the body color, you had three choices: Onyx Black, Summit White, or Satin Steel Metallic.

The price for this collaboration began at $94,995, which was about $2,500 less than what you would've paid for with the Ford/Harley edition pickup in 2019. There were only about 250 of these trucks made, however.

Was it worth the price tag?

A regular GMC Sierra 1500 truck can last you well over 200,000 miles, provided you take good care of it. Most owners had reported that their pickups went quite a ways before anything major had to be addressed, which is pretty good for a truck like this.

When you factor in the Harley-Davidson components and the high price tag, it could still be worth purchasing if you find one on the used market in good condition.

That is, if you're a big fan of GMC and Harley motorcycles. The partnership of these two companies made an awesome pickup that you just don't want to get rid of if you were lucky to get one in the first place.
