Equipped with all-wheel drive, the Lexus RX 450h will accelerate to 60 mph in just 6.5 seconds. Those who forego certain luxurious features will gain some additional speed and acceleration.
The Toyota RAV4 Prime is the automaker’s fastest SUV and it’s a plug-in hybrid. According to

, it even beats out the GR86, a track-ready sports car, with a 0-60 mph time of 5.7 seconds. The motors produce 302 hp for less than $40,000.

Enjoy underrated luxury in a Lexus ES. For $41,000, travel from a standstill to 60 mph in 7.3 seconds. The 300h F Sport package will boost performance further.
The Honda Accord just got a newly optimized hybrid engine and a time of 6.7 seconds in the 0 to 60 mph test. It’s a lightweight vehicle that translates into 48 mpg for city and highway driving. The comfortable interior is a nice bonus.
A plug-in hybrid, the BMW 330e XDrive comes with a higher price tag of $47,000 for the separate electric motor charging port. But the extra dollars may be worth it for a fuel-efficiency of 80 MPGe. Drivers will need to refuel on gas and electricity though. Run 0 to 60 mpg in 5.7 seconds.
The BMW i8 has that mean sports car look and is one of the fastest hybrid cars, as per

. It does 0 to 60 mph in 3.8 seconds with a fuel-efficiency of 95 mpg.
The hybrid originator, Toyota, also has one of the fastest hybrid cars with the affordable Camry. Go 0 to 60 mph in 5.2 seconds for just $27,000. Even more power and speed is made available with the LE 4DR package. You won’t be disappointed with 51 mpg either.
At $47,000, the Volvo S60 Recharge Plug-In Hybrid is a more expensive choice, but from a reliable brand. It accelerates to 60 mph in just 4.3 seconds. It’s a well-balanced offering with 69 MPGe for highway and city driving.
Those shopping the used market will be pleased with the 2019 Volvo S60 T8 Polestar. It manages 0 to 60 mph in 4.5 seconds with 415 hp.
The Mercedes-AMG CLS 53 4matic+ is a mouthful and a mild-hybrid car. Its higher 48-volt system adds 7 lbs of boost for a 0 to 60 mph time of 4.1 seconds.
A super-hybrid that weighs over 5,000 lbs is the Polestar 1. It still manages to accelerate to 60 mpg from a standstill in 3.8 seconds. An excellent choice for those seeking exclusivity since the Swedish automaker only produces 500 of these a year.
It wouldn’t be a list of fastest hybrid cars without including the Porsche Panamera 4 E-Hybrid Sport Turismo. It runs 0 to 60 mph in 3.7 seconds and has all the luxury you’d expect. The Panamera Turbo S E-Hybrid Sport Turismo version will make the same run in 2.8 seconds, despite weighing more than two Mazda Miatas.
A Porsche 918 Spyder will travel from 0 to 60 mph in a mere 2.4 seconds, thanks to its all-wheel drive traction.
Another expensive hybrid sports car is the Acura NSX that pairs a twin-turbo V6 engine to three electric motors. It’ll accelerate to 60 mph in 3.1 seconds.
The McLaren P1 is even quicker with a time of 2.6 seconds to move from 0 to 60 mph. It requires an experienced driver to manage that time with 904 hp and not spin the tires. The fastest hybrid car is the Ferrari LaFerrari. It accelerates to 60 mph from a standstill in just 2.4 seconds with rear-wheel drive.
