background
The Fast and the Furious franchise has been racing to cinema since 2001 and is ending in early 2024. With fast cars, stunts, heists, and action-packed adventure it’s the end of an era and time to see the return of the familia and the
cars

‘Fast and Furious’ cars confirmed and spied

The Fast and Furious saga would not be where it is today without its cars.
Drive.com
shared recent LAX spy photos of vehicles planned to be used in the films.
The cars we know will be a part of the film include:
  • Dodge Charger Hellcat Widebody
  • Lamborghini Gallardo
  • Alfa Romeo 2000 GT
  • 1970 Dodge Charger Hellraiser
Our new breakout stars include a Datsun 240 Z. It’s a yellow, wide body with fender mirrors, a turbo engine under the hood, and a badge that states “Fairlady Z Japan.” This car is guaranteed to be in some stunts as spy photos show its backup.
Near these twin yellow Datsun 240 Z’s was a car possibly inspired by the 1970s Tyrrell P34 Formula car. It’s black, armored with six wheels and a rear engine, powered by a nitrous V8 engine; this ramp car stands out.
Other vehicles that might have been just traveling on the same journey or might be in the films include:
  • Mercedes AMG SC
  • Camouflage AMG C63
  • Volkswagen Golf
  • Volkswagen Arteon Shooting Brake
  • Doorless Khaki Jeep Gladiator Rubicon
  • Purple Chevrolet Impala
According to actor
Sung Kang’s Instagram post
, “Good to see you old friend…” the Sunset Pearl Orange Mazda RX-7 FD car with its HKS turbocharger from the Tokyo Drift film is expected to return after 16 years.

Fast and Furious X release dates, returns, and new cast

The final installment of Fast and Furious is too big for just one film and is planned to be released in two parts with concurrent filming, according to
Radio Times
. The first part is expected to hit theaters on May 19th, 2023, with the final part to come in early 2024.
Filming started on April 20th, 2022.
Family, a big part of the films, is expected to continue with an expansion of the family. This includes returns of the characters Dominic Toretto, Deckard Shaw, Letty Ortiz, Roman Pearce, Tej Parker, Mia Toretto, Ramsey, Han Lue, Cipher, and Jacob Toretto.
New additions to the cast include Dominic Toretto’s grandmother, played by Rita Moreno. Additional casting with unknown parts includes Brie Larson, Jason Momoa (as a villain), and Alan Ritchson.

A Fast and Furious X budget, location, and plot

With an estimated reported $300 million production budget, according to
Screen Rant
, one wonders what one of the top ten most expensive films to make.
Part of this goes towards paying the cast; at least $100 million is expected to go to the large ensemble's paychecks. Other places that the budget might go are towards the expensive cars themselves, or even the insurance required to cover them
What about location? Are we going back to space? Well, according to an interview with the
Metro,
Vin Diesel said:
“I know that one of the things Justin wants to do is to film on all seven continents, which I think is pretty spectacular, as a homage to the world that’s adopted this saga as their own.”
The plot will likely tie up loose ends with Dom’s history and relationships with his brother and against Cipher. With Han Lue and Deckard Shaw returning, we’ll hopefully get some resolution to that murder attempt.
And maybe with luck, we’ll learn what happened to Mr. Nobody. Luck, because, while this may be the end of Fast and Furious, spin-offs are already being discussed. So who knows what will be saved for those?
