Arguably the worst Kia to buy right now is the 2022 Kia Sorento, as it is listed at 23% over manufacturer suggested retail price (MSRP). The price range for the 2022 Kia Sorento is $29,590 to $48,090, with the price of an average transaction being $44,478. But according to Consumer Reports, the MSRP is $8,388. That means, the average buyer is spending over $8,000 more than this car’s value!
On top of that, the 2022 Kia Sorento doesn’t have great ratings. Predicted reliability is only a one out of five, while predicted owner satisfaction is only a three out of five. Fuel economy and acceleration are strong, but the car lacks in ride, transmission, emergency handling, and cargo area.

2022 Kia Rio
After the 2022 Kia Sorento, the 2022 Kia Rio is the worst deal you can get on a Kia right now. Prices for this car range between $16,450 and $17,390, but the average transaction price is above that range, at $20,523.
For the 2022 Kia Rio, the MSRP is $17,090, making the average spend above MSRP $3,433. Not only this, but like the 2022 Kia Sorento, the 2022 Kia Rio doesn’t have great ratings.

Unfortunately, the average spend on the 2022 Kia Seltos is $28,966, making the average driver pay over $4,500 over MSRP.
Both predicted reliability and predicted owner satisfaction are low for the 2022 Kia Seltos, at one out of five and two out of five respectively. While braking and controls are great, trunk space, ride, noise, and acceleration all fall short. Ultimately, it comes out with an overall score of 43 out of 100 from Consumer Reports, which isn’t worth the almost $5,000 over MSRP.

Lastly, the 2022 Kia Forte is another vehicle that has low ratings and comes in at 19% over MSRP. The average transaction price is $23,293 but the MSRP is only $19,590, leaving drivers to pay on average $3,649 over the car’s worth. Plus, it has one of the worst overall scores we’ve seen from Consumer Reports, at just a 39 out of 100.
Predicted reliability and predicted owner satisfaction are both a one out of five. Although fuel economy ratings are great at an overall 34 mpg, the low ratings in other categories combined with the high price tag make this car not worth the purchase, like all the other Kias on this list.
