At its core, the Dodge Magnum was a station wagon version of the Dodge Charger. The Magnum was first introduced in 2005 for the 2006 model year.
In terms of design, the front end of the Magnum is nearly identical to the muscle car style that the Charger is known for. However, instead of a trunk like the Charger, the Dodge Magnum has a liftgate that opens to a spacious cargo area. The Magnum's rear seats could be folded down, increasing the space even further.
Earlier Magnum models' interiors differed from the Charger. This later changed, though, so that the Magnum and Charger had similar interiors.
Engine specs and the decline of the Magnum
Under the hood, the Dodge Magnum came standard with a 167-horsepower, 2.7-liter V6. All models had a 5-speed automatic transmission.
Buyers who wanted a more powerful Dodge Magnum had options, like the SRT Magnum. This variant was powered by a 345-horsepower V8. If even that wasn't enough for a driver, they could opt for the SRT-8, which, according to Cars.com
