Some cars and trucks are simply built to last. They can withstand the toughest conditions, on the harshest roads, for years and years to come. One of the trucks that fits the bill is the
Chevrolet
C10.
The C10
was produced by Chevrolet from 1960 through 2002 and loved by many for its dependability and toughness. Although new models haven’t been manufactured for a while, it’s still possible to get your hands on this classic car and even take it on the roads.

What is the Chevrolet C10?

The Chevrolet C10 was a pickup truck produced by General Motors from 1960 through 2002. According to
HotCars
, before the C10 Chevrolet was known for making utilitarian trucks for ranchers and farmers. The C10 changed the narrative with a more everyday truck, and over those roughly 40 years in production, we saw four different generations of the pickup.
The first generation of the C10 was produced for just six years, from 1960 through 1966. It had a standard inline-six engine that had a maximum horsepower of 185 on the base engine. The second generation came in 1967, and was essentially a faster, sleeker, and more powerful version of the first.
The third generation was produced from roughly 1972 to 1987. It featured changes like a more square body, an updated grille, and more luxury looking trims. From 1987 to 2002 when the C10 went out of production, it was the fourth generation. There were engine upgrades and more trim options, until Chevrolet phased out the C10 and other trucks came into production.
All of these Chevrolet C10s can hold up today because of their practical yet dependable engines, aerodynamic and sleek exteriors, and towing capabilities.

Best Chevrolet C10s of all time

Out of all those years and generations, some Chevrolet C10s stood out among the rest. An oldie but a goodie, the 1968 Chevrolet C10 LS3, a second generation C10, was a great pickup truck. It had a picture perfect finish, rumbling engine, and dependable exterior.
Motorious
loves the 1984 Chevrolet C10 Silverado for its rounded hood, comfort, and fuel economy capabilities. The Silverado was unique because it was a pickup truck but had the feel, and almost the look, too, of a sedan. Plus, because it was a third generation C10, it had features like accommodating suspensions and power windows and doors.
Another honorable mention should be given to the 1973 Chevrolet C10. This was one of the best C10s of all time for its unique look. It was wide and low, with an extremely long hood. Plus, there’s an air grabber coming out of the hood, a fancy grille, sports mirrors, frenched taillights, and tons of other fully customizable features.

How much is a Chevrolet C10 today?

If any of the models we’ve mentioned, or just a Chevrolet C10 in general appeal to you, you can purchase this classic car today, and for pretty inexpensive prices as far as classic cars go. According to HotCars, some used C10s can be found on the market for as low as $10,000.
Granted, these C10s won’t be in the best, or possibly even in working condition, but if you’re up for restoring old cars it could be a great project. If you want a Chevrolet C10 with up-to-date finishes, a powerful engine and no paint chips, you’re probably looking at a higher price.
But, the highest you should see for a used Chevrolet C10 is between $50,000 and $55,000.
