First up are the tour vehicles in Jurassic Park, the 1992 Ford Explorer XLT. These cars made in the 90s seem to have come from the future, by being electric and self-driving with a touch screen.
These cars were controlled off camera or, sometimes, driven by someone hidden in the trunks, and made to seem electric and autonomous via movie magic, according to

. The tour vehicles were decorated for the parks in custom yellow and green paint, making them easy to spot.

The staff vehicles from ‘Jurassic Park’
The staff vehicles for Jurassic Park were 1993 Jeep Wrangler YJ Sahara’s, according to
IMCDB.com
, and with their offroading capabilities make them great for trying to escape dinosaurs in the park. These vehicles were custom painted red and grey with the iconic park logo on the side. Though for regular shoppers at the time, according to
Edmunds
, it was available in six colors and could tow about 2,000 lbs, maybe a small dinosaur if needed. If you want an EV, or a modern Wrangler, they are still sold, currently as hybrids. Though Jeep does plan to release a
fully electric Wrangler
called the Magneto in 2024. The starting price is expected to be $50,000.The maintenance ATVs seen throughout the park in the background are the 1989 Kawasaki Mule 200s. For a park as big as Jurassic Park, it makes sense that ATVs would be needed to keep everything in tip-top shape, in normal safe circumstances.

A 1983 Ford LTD Wagon is the vehicle that drops Dodgson off in Costa Rica; even though the car is quite filthy, it still got him to where it was going.
In Michael Crichton’s novel, the tour vehicles weren’t Ford Explorers but Toyota Land Cruisers.
Toyota still makes Land Cruisers, just not in the USA anymore due to a decrease in demand and popularity (and price tag!). However, you might be able to find one used for about $15,000.
