What’s the Buzz Around the All-new Jeep Grand Wagoneer Full-sized SUV

When you hear the name
Jeep
, you usually think the Wrangler, which you'll find is a favorite of many critics. While this model enjoys popularity due to its fun factor, it's the Grand Wagoneer that's catching attention for 2022. What's so great about it?

How well does the Jeep Grand Wagoneer perform?

The Jeep Grand Wagoneer is one of the most luxurious cars in its class.
The Jeep Wagoneer and the Grand Wagoneer are very similar models, but the grand version offers a sense of upscale luxury. Stitched leather seats are standard, while wood trim adorns the interior. Meanwhile, a massive touchscreen center console tracks performance and can double as a navigation system.
There's more to it than just luxurious amenities, though. With the grand model, you get plenty of power. The standard 6.4-liter V8 engine generates 471 hp and is paired with an eight-speed automatic transmission. Going from 0 to 60 mph takes just 5.4 seconds—making it one of the quickest SUVs in the world.
The new Wagoneer is built off of a body-on-frame chassis, which offers up to 9,860 lbs of towing capacity, according to
Car and Driver
. To eagle-eyed car aficionados, the frame might look similar to a Ram. But Jeep has altered that perception, giving the Grand Wagoneer an independent rear suspension.
That revamped chassis gives the Grand Wagoneer a relaxed feel with steady handling on smooth pavement.
However, it can do little to fight rough road conditions, which might make the ride a little more jittery. Furthermore, because it's a large SUV, it won't maneuver around as easily as some compact vehicles can.

What features will you get with the Jeep Grand Wagoneer?

There are four trim levels for the
Jeep Grand Wagoneer
. The Series I, which is the base, comes with LED daytime running lights and fog lights, as well as a power liftgate, heated side mirrors, power running boards, and a rear bumper step.
Upgrading to the Series II gets you a set of 22-inch wheels, leather-trimmed upholstery, two-tone roof, night vision, and semi-autonomous driving modes. Our friends at Car and Driver have dubbed that level the best value for money.
The top trim is the Series III, which is priced around $105,000. It comes with quilted Palermo leather-trimmed seats, which offer a massage setting and a front console cooler bin. It also comes with night vision that has pedestrian and animal detection.
There are options for a bit of extra flash, too. The obsidian version, for example, comes in black, silver, grey, and even white. No matter the color, this level is adorned with black trim on some inserts, the grille, the window trim pieces, and even the side mirror casings.

The Jeep Grand Wagoneer's extravagant tech features

The Grand Wagoneer certainly comes with some desirable tech features. For the driver, there's a 12.3-inch digital gauge cluster and another 12-inch screen for the Uconnect display with the McIntosh stereo system.
Underneath it is a comfort display to control the heat/air conditioner. Meanwhile, front passengers are treated to their own touchscreen, a feature nabbed from other Jeep models.
Rear passengers get a display screen to control crucial elements of the passenger experience, such as heat and air for the rear of the vehicle. There are also two entertainment screens as well. Both displays will work with Amazon Fire TV, which can run separately or be connected to both screens.
