Sleek, sporty, and quick,
BMW’s
newest model of the M240i seemingly has it all. This tiny
two-door coupe
is lightweight and brings acceleration capabilities from the car brand to the next level.
With styling, design and power car critics are loving, the 2022 BMW M240i is sure to be a hit this year—here’s everything you need to know about this two-door coupe.

2022 BMW M240i engine and power

The 2022 BMW M240i comes equipped with a turbocharged 3.0-liter I6 engine that produces 382 hp and 369 lb-ft of torque. With it, the car can reach 60 mph in just 4.1 seconds, and increase that speed to 100 mph in 9.1 seconds, which is far superior to earlier models of the car.
On top of this, drivers can increase the power and acceleration capabilities with optional additional packages.
Motor1
opted for the high-performance cooling package—which costs an additional $2,400—that comes with an auxiliary oil cooler, more powerful engine fan, and grippy summer tires. They really felt a difference.
Not only does the M240i go fast, but it isn’t a gas-guzzling sports car. According to
Car and Driver
, fuel economy on the M240i is better than expected, testing at 26 mpg combined, 23 mpg in the city and 32 mpg on the highway. All those numbers beat last year’s model.

2022 BMW M240i design and interior

As a two-door coupe, the BMW 240i is a bit tight for space, but doesn’t lack in luxury. While there’s enough room up front for a passenger and driver, Car and Driver found it necessary to deploy the adjustable thigh cushions to get comfortable in either seat.
Car Buzz
points out the back seat isn’t equipped for adults, but does suffice for storing bags or cargo that don’t fit in the trunk. The actual cargo space is only 14 cubic feet, the same as last year’s model, so drivers might need to make use of that extra space in the rear seats for storage, not passengers.
But, where the car lacks in space it makes up for in technology and interior features.
Driving
loved all the cameras accessible to the driver in the M240i. Along with the standard all-view side cameras, the BMW M240i has a backup camera that swivels, so the driver can see in every direction.
Plus, the speedometer, tachometer, and navigation system are all clearly visible, which is essential in a sports car.
