If you have the money to spend, a Lamborghini
can be one of the best cars you can buy. As with any car manufacturer, some of the brand's models are more highly coveted and considered "better" than others. There's not really a bad Lamborghini you can buy, but you can get more for your money
with some of the company's vehicles than others. We take a look at five of the best Lamborghinis, going over their specs, when they were made, and why they are so popular. If you are in the market for a Lamborghini, these are some of the models that you should look into if you want to get the best bang for your buck.
Lamborghini L 33 Tractor
The fifth best Lamborghini according to Motor 1
is one that you might not expect. It is the Lamborghini L 33 Tractor, which you might not be familiar with but it is a historic machine. This is the first Lamborghini ever made before Ferruccio Lamborghini started making sports cars. This was the first product that, aside from the engine, was wholly built by Lamborghini's company Lamborghini Trattori.
Under the hood is a diesel-powered 3.5-liter straight-6 engine. It is the first Lamborghini tractor, but it's not the last—in fact Lamborghini Trattori is still around today, separate from the car company, and still sells the farm equipment.
If you're in America, though, you're out of the luck because the company doesn't sell its products in North America.
Lamborghini 350 GT
Notable for being the first Lamborghini production car, the Lamborghini 350 GT is still a favorite among the company's fans more than five decades after being introduced.
The 350 GT had a short lifespan, with just 120 built between 1964 and 1966. That limited production run makes it highly coveted if for no other reason than the rarity of the model.
The model had a long, sleek body with a front-mounted V12. It had just 280 hp under the hood, so it didn't have the speed people have come to expect from the company.
It also doesn't pack the visual punch we have come to expect with Lambos, but it was an important first step for Lamborghini as it took its first step into car manufacturing.
Lamborghini Countach
Manufactured from 1974 to 1990, the Lamborghini Countach was a pioneer of the angled wedge look with scissor doors and aerodynamic elements. That latter aspect included a rear wing on later years of the model.
It wasn't all positive, though, as the Countach was hard to get in and out of, and it was difficult to see out of, making driving harder than usual.
Despite the drawbacks, the Countach was a popular car and remains a coveted model for Lamborghini collectors more than 30 years after the last model rolled off the production line.
Lamborghini Miura P400
The top Lamborghini of all time has to be the Miura P400. It is so sought-after because it is considered to be the first supercar. Motor 1 goes so far to call it "the best, most significant, most inspirational car Lamborghini has ever made."
The Miura was manufactured between 1966 and 1973, pioneering the engine position and overall positions of nearly every Lamborghini that followed it.
A good-looking car, it was also very quick for its time. The Miura P400 was the fastest production vehicle when it hit the market, thanks to its 3.9 L Lamborghini V12 engine and 345-hp engine.
It was a costly vehicle, though, with its $20,000 price tag the equivalent of more than $167,000 in 2021 money.
