The Bentley Bentayga EWB Is Irrestibaly Luxe

Bentley’s latest installment brings private-jet standards to their luxury SUV. Is the added legroom worth the hefty price?

When you’re talking Bentleys, it’s hard to distinguish one level of opulence from another. It’s a Bentley, for crying out loud. How could any model be any more luxurious than the others? Well, the British
luxury car
maker answered that question in 2022 with the Bentayga EWB.
Almost eight inches longer than the standard Bentayga, the Extended Wheelbase gives its backseat passengers the legroom of a limo while offering the driver the power and control of a high-quality SUV.
All this luxury comes at a cost, though.

The Bentley Bentayga EWB—a stretch SUV fit for royalty

You might not think of Queen Elizabeth riding around in an SUV, but the
Sunday Times Driving
says that jolly ol’ England’s matriarch was handed the keys to the first Bentley Bentayga that rolled off the assembly line.
Once you learn more about the Bentayga, the image isn’t as hard to conjure. The 2022 model sports three powertrain options: a 542-horsepower, twin-turbo V8, a 626-hp W12, or a 443-hp turbocharged hybrid V6, all of which provide ample power to all four wheels.
The original Bentayga’s interior will make anyone feel expensive, but the EWB turns that opulence to 11. While your engine options narrow down to the V8, the added space for passengers offers an extra first-class touch to a vehicle already flush with “private jet” vibes.

Is feeling expensive in the Bentayga EWB worth the expense?

Anyone seriously looking into buying a Bentley of any shape or size belongs in a tax bracket where you don’t worry about a decimal point or two, but for the rest of us, the Bentayga is decidedly out of our price range.
Starting at just over $260,000, the EWB adds the value of a base model Porsche Cayenne to the Bentayga’s price tag. And that’s saying something, considering its V8 engine is available in the Porsche.
In fact, the same twin-turbo V8 can be found in the Audi Q8 and Lamborghini Urus as well, thanks to their shared parent company,
Volkswagen
The Lambo aside, these luxury SUVs don’t come close to the Bentayga EWB’s price point, even at their most fully loaded. If you opt for it anyway, it’s the nameplate you’re paying for.
